That's how you get to the big time. If your coaches aren't being arrested for buying players, you ain't tryin' hard enough. We'll never get there with this guy at the helm.

Shocking! This is so sad. I had no idea any of this was going on.

Just shut the whole thing down and all these lying, cheating, stealing rats like Calipari, Krzyzewski, Self and Pitino should be locked up. Thank God the FBI is involved, somehow all this evaded the NCAA crack team of investigators in their relentless pursuit of fairness.

Actually, now that I have 2 seconds to think about it. Let's send the FBI after the NCAA!!!

This is a bad.... BAD... thing for college basketball right now.

This is one day where I am happy that we have someone like Tubby as our head coach. And, I'm also happy that we're no longer an Adidas school.

NCAA has no real investigative powers, unlike the FBI. Unless NCAA can get an assistant coach to flip, or a recruit to squeal, they have little chance to catch schools cheating. Which is why cheating has succeeded for so long, especially in men's hoops.

BS, give me $10,000, some hidden cameras and a salary for a year and I
could bring the whole thing crashing down. Except, I'd probably get paid off first and forget the whole thing.

I hope down the road the legal action will create more opportunities for honest coaches.

Buyers remorse

Pretty hilarious. I lump Louisville in with UNC and UT trying to cover their tracks. UT did pretty well with an out of court settlement.

Funny, and IIRC you are a cop, so I'm sure you could. But not BS. NCAA can't subpoena, can't compel players to even answer questions once they finish playing. With the top hoops players being one-and-dones, that means the NCAA has about a 9-month window to catch them. In other words, almost impossible.

FBI has traditionally stayed out of college athletics unless the violations were gambling related. This investigation, focused on recruiting, is a huge change of focus.

And it only started because some financial adviser was in trouble and he rolled over on this operation.

They locked the thread. More pertinent today than it was after the hookers. Sensitive bunch that ACC crowd.

LOL. Kinda like that jeweler who sued the Duke player then suddenly dismissed the suit and refused to talk to the NCAA.

If anyone wants to read the charges, here is a link: https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/pre...advisory-2

Bottom of the page has the attachments. Amazing stuff. Frustrating because I can't cut and paste.

The most Louisville moment of all the alleged Louisville stuff, I think.

"b. Noting that University-6 was already on probation with the NCAA, Dawkins indicated that they would have to be particularly careful with how they passed money to Player-11 and his family. Coach-1 agreed, stating "we gotta be very low key."

Anyone shocked at the cesspool that college basketball has become is either not paying attention or is just willfully denying what has been plain to see.

Former NCAA official told me today this could end up as the biggest college sports story of our lifetime. "It's also the least surprising."
