If Penn State and Baylor didn't get shut down, I don't know how Louisville gets shut down.

When Len Bias died, Maryland fired Lefty Driesel and hired Bob Wade. It was a self-imposed purgatory. Maryland recovered.

When NC State's Jim Valvano was fired, NC State, the university, raised academic standards to the highest in the ACC. The recruiting standards were liberalized under Sidney Lowe. NC State, who at one time shared basketball championships with Duke and UNC, has not really recovered. Once again, the school went into purgatory for a period of time.

I suspect Louisville will do the same. Ultimately, the school may hire a skilled coach but restrict recruiting for a period of time. After a period, the coach will be replaced and Louisville will attempt to build into a power again.

Louisville already did the hard part. The school moved to the ACC and will play "the best".

The Accreditation Probation is due to interference from the Governor office...but that been resolved due to changes in State Law and Kentucky Supreme Court ruling this week...as said above...we will be fine...

The Accreditation Probation is due to interference from the Governor office...but that been resolved due to changes in State Law and Kentucky Supreme Court ruling this week...as said above...we will be fine...

The audit raised more issues as well but even those are being resolved. Ramsey has been removed as president & from the foundation. The president no longer runs the foundation & the board has more oversight. I think it would be hard for anyone to say that these steps aren't progress. The UofL may get another year of probation to make sure progress continues but that's about it.
