He could be bump firing...or could have modified the weapon(s) himself...the rate of fire seems to vary which is a bit odd...almost like it is cycling up and down. If he had purchased the weapon as an automatic I would expect to hear a constant rate of fire.
Agreed. My first thought was bump firing but I thought you could only do that from the hip. Didn't know they made stocks that did it. Definitely could be a home modification of a semi auto to full auto.

Honest to God why does anybody need this? I'm all for the 2nd amendment. I'm conservative, etc. I just can't wrap my mind around why you'd ever need this. By the time you "need" it, it's probably too late and won't be enough.

Not trying to be critical. I'm just trying to understand the mindset.

All I know is that I'll be avoiding social media and newspaper Comment threads more than usual now. You all know how it goes. It's going to get very ugly for a while.

So before the race of the shooter was known, people speculate it was definitely a left winger maybe Antifa but now that we know it was a white male he politics must be all over the place?

Come on man.

Uhhhhhhh, the majority of ANTIFA members are white.

And it's not just semantics, they literally are two different things.

Media has been calling this an automatic weapon all day long. They're either still ignorant on guns, or this guy used an illegal gun. Listening to the video, the shots do ring out pretty quick, but it could still be trigger pull speed.

Time to wait on the facts. At this point it's stupid to blame either the right or left politically. We know literally zero facts on this. People jumping to accuse the other side are all part of the problem.

Agreed, 1000%.

How long before the howls of "gun control would have prevented this!" Start?

Immediately trying to pass blame for this nut is no different than what happened in Orlando.

But will say, this thing sure sounded like full auto to me. My guess is this guy altered whatever he had to make them so.

10+ guns and platforms to shoot from.

This was no spur of the moment act.

Nutjob.

I'm an avid shooter, hunter (though I've only hunted with my AR sparingly), and just feel good about having guns for protection. I grew up around them, enjoy them, and my kids are growing up around them and will be taught to safely enjoy them.

That said, if you think "it's probably too late and won't be enough" in terms of using an AR-15 (bump stock or not)... then you haven't been around many ARs. If "the time" came when I need it, I'll guarantee you that I have the capability (arms and ammo) to keep harm away from my family and I for a very, very long time. While I'm willing to admit that most Americans don't have the practice and professional knowledge of weapons enough for that, I don't have a problem with it being available.

Quote:The brother of the Las Vegas shooter said that he was a normal guy who must have 'snapped' before carrying out the worst mass shooting in American history.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Eric Paddock said that 'something happened' to make his brother Stephen kill at least 50 people and injure 200.

Eric said that there was 'absolutely no indication he could do something like this' and said that Stephen had no political or religious affiliation.

He said: 'He was just a guy. Something happened, he snapped or something'.

Quote:'He's my brother, we don't have a very close relationship but we talk occasionally. There's no rhyme or reason here, it makes no sense'.

He said: 'She has nothing to do with this, at least from my perspective.

'He was just a guy. Something happened, he snapped or something, he was just a guy.

'He has no political affiliation, no religious affiliation, as far as we know. This wasn't a terror attack'.

Interesting piece from an article I haven't seen posted yet.

Quote:One witness at the concert told DailyMail.com that a woman had entered the crowd with a male companion and screamed 'They're all around... You're all going to f***ing die today' just 45 minutes before the gunfire broke out.
The woman was described as being Hispanic and in her 50s; she and the man were escorted out of the venue by security.
Witness Breanna Hendricks, who was in Vegas celebrating her 21st birthday, said: 'There was a lady who came running up behind us in the concert and she started to play with people's hair acting crazy and she told us that we're all going to f***ing die.
'She said they're all around us and we were going to die,' continued Hendricks, whose mom Shawn Hendricks also witnessed the startling altercation.
'She was Hispanic, probably about 5ft 5, brown hair. It felt like she had knowledge of what was about to happen, her and her boyfriend who was also Hispanic.
'The woman was saying her boyfriend couldn't breathe so they could get through the crowd.
'It seemed she was telling us to either warn us or she was part of it and she was telling us because she knew we were going to die, it was so scary.'
It's not clear whether what she witnessed is related to the shooting or not.

Already started. At least here in New England, specifically Boston. One of the morning shows dedicated a segment, possibly 2, to this shooting.

Well you couldn't shoot from that range with a hand gun.

Anybody blame Obama yet? Just trying to keep track of the blame game which seems more important than the event itself.

When do you think that's going to happen? Are you expecting a zombie apocalypse? Serious question. The only time I can think that you'd actually need that is in the case of martial law or gov't turning on it's own citizens. If the latter happens we're ****** regardless.

To be clear I'm not saying that this stuff shouldn't be available. I'm just asking if you think that really gives you a chance? If there's a gov't takeover it might buy you an hour. One way or another you're dead.
