We are the best kept secret in the nation for a reason........
There are forces working against us.

No. Inside the world of college basketball, UL had the reputation of a dirty program from at least the days of Denny Crum. It's a reason you were never admitted into the Big East...and I'm talking about an early 90s time period when Crum was lobbying hard for UL to get in. If you never heard about that, it is because you weren't privy to the inside discussions of hoops at the time, which yes, I had some access to it back then. I'm only telling you what was on the lips of coaches that were actually in the Big East well before UL was ever an actual member, but rest assured, the small fraternity of the college coaching community means it was almost certainly a widely held reputation.

Yeah....I still remember the 60 Minutes piece on Denny Crum...that another reason I want a complete makeover of the athletic program.

Maize, I certainly understand and respect your opinion and CP's post proves my point. You want something we haven't had since before the 1970's.
Take this very situation as an example. No where are we publicly named by the FBI. Not any of our coaches are publicly named by the FBI and not one AD has been referenced by the FBI. In fact, the FBI has gone out of their way to say the schools were defrauded. All this yet UofL is the face of this scandal and we are out a coach (understandably) and an AD (not so understandably). Now why is that?

Doesn't matter what we do. Imo, which every single one of my posts are, TJ is the best in the business and should be retained. I believe his reputation among his peers speaks for itself and I am speaking of the NCAA as well as other ADs across the nation.

Sticking by Pitino through Cypher & the McGee scandal doesn't help. Not to mention Wakeyleaks, retaining a dirty assistant football coach from Miami & bringing Pitrino back shortly after the Arkansas scandal. All of that before we even get to the FBI report. Singularly they aren't as damning but together they point to a style of culture which warrants a reputation of being dirty.

05-stirthepot Valid point. Tom Jurich was originally hire to clean up Ron Cooper and Denny Crum problems. He fired Crum and Cooper both. Jurich was to start a culture of absolute compliance with NCAA rules. In hind sight he didn't and now we are having NCAA problems and FBI problems. There is no way to justify this. 07-coffee3

Truth be told I wanted Jurich gone after he got rid of Crum. I believe he even said he was taking his family and getting out of town because of the backlash. He's not afraid to make the hard decision and do what needs to be done.

It is long and sordid but let me give you a taste. Mitch McConnell went to UofL and has the McConnell Elain Chao Center. Republican's have decimated the Democrats in Kentucky in elected office. Mitch is the face of the Republican establishment.
Speaking of the face of a party, who did the Democrats roll out to respond to repealing ObamaCare. Former Gov Beshear. He just so happened to sell UofL BoT appointments to the highest contributer to his campaign. Appointment for sale. His son is Kentucky's AG.
Mix in that the current Governor is the face of the Trump team in Ky and that Elain Chao is Sec of Labor under Trump and we all know how much the Democrats and Obama and the FBI hate President Trump and Mitch McConnell and the Republican Party. What you have is the makings of the University of Louisville being a pawn and a method of retribution on many fronts.

Imagine that? Little ol' Louisville.

So none of this crap really happened? FFS, guys you sound crazy... crazier than State and ECU fans with their UNC conspiracies.

So, my statement that "this is long and sordid and this is just a taste" doesn't imply there is more to the story?

Edit: shoot, I didn't even mention the Courier Journal and its connection to the local gov't, uk, the BoT and coordinated agendas.

RE: Doctor Postel's blistering letter to Tom Jurich
Personally, I would like Jurich to remain as AD. I still feel the biggest part of the problems at UL were a direct result of greed from former UL president Ramsey and His BOT chronies that the Gov had removed. For better or worse I feel Jurich had pressure on Him from the latter. There are expensive projects that remain to be finished and TJ has the inside track to see those through. Was He directly involved in Adadisgate? Only TJ knows and No charges have been filed against him. Innocent until found guilty.
