Mike Leach ranks loud stadiums and burger joints
Mike Leach listing off the loudest stadiums he's been in. He says the loudest (you'll be surprised which one) is "As if you had a football game in a neighbor's basement and the kids were yelling louder than hell."

Bonus clip: Leach explains why In-N-Out is the best burger place. And it's not the burgers...

I can appreciate what Leach has to say. In the SEC Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge has the reputation it does because the Cajuns start eating and partying mid morning and do so up until kick off. It can be quite rowdy, but also a heckuva a lot of fun.

Even Auburn at night can be pretty danged loud. Clemson's earning a reputation, and since they enclosed the end zone in Tallahassee the war chant can get inside your skull. Colleges have a lot of fun places to play and even if they are fun they can still be tough on the visitor. But usually that has a lot to do with the players on the field.

Leach has to be a reporter's dream. His mind goes in directions most of us didn't even know were there. The only direction it won't go is the politically correct one.

He says this because their stadium is "concrete" and the echoes "bounce off the wall 5 times" so it sounds like 5 times the number of people.

That's what Cincinnati has too. Except not only did we build a concrete stadium into a natural valley, we also built academic buildings up right next to it on all sides. It's literally an echo chamber surrounded by another 4-6 story echo chamber. The echoes are so strong that they've given up trying to improve the P.A. system. It's a horrible place to listen to the band, but the world's greatest football stadium.
