Rumors have been flying as to who may replace Saban at LSU. Butch Davis, Tommy Tubberville, Petrino, etc. It has been reported that Butch Davis wishes to remain out of football for at least one year, thereby removing himself from consideration. Now Tubberville has signed a new high priced contract with Auburn. The good news for LSU is Teevens is available.

It'll be interesting to watch that's for sure. If this would have come up sooner I'm sure the tigger faithful would've been talking a lot about Meyer or even Spurrier. Too late to get those guys.
If Butch Davis is sitting this one out I bet they make a run for Petrino.

I would think Petrino would be an achievable goal. LSU could buy out his current contract with Louisville and still give him a substantial raise. And it is obvious that he is merely a hired gun and doubtful that he has any emotional ties to Louisville.

Looks like Louisville inked Petrino for a few years. The tigs will have to look elsewhere.

Not at all. Petrino's new contract is less than 1/3 what LSU is currently paying Saban. That means LSU could offer Petrino more than he is currently getting, pay off his buyout and still save money.

Doesn't look like Petrino is going anywhere. The longer the deal between Miami and saban takes, the further behind the 8-ball lsu will be when it starts its search. Personally, I hope they look at some NFL coordinators, I dunno, Terry Robiskie seems like the logical choice to me
