We will likely finish the year with 5.

You'd think programs like TA&M, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee ...... they spend way too much money, have way too many fans, and have way too much history, to not make the top 25 every year.

It evens out by the end of the season. Right now most of the SEC brand names open with some kind of decent to premier OOC game plays a patsy and then opens conference play. Because we don't open with 4 OOC games 3 of which are patsies we usually have to wait for the Big 10 and PAC to beat up on themselves. If Alabama, Georgia and Auburn all finish well then I think by the end of the season that A&M and Kentucky or South Carolina will find their way into the rankings.

Most likely this is a low point. But everyone could be so balanced this year that only 3 schools do better than 7-5. Anybody in the SEC who goes 8-4 is almost certainly ranked at the end of the year.

I can certainly agree with that. It's why I didn't include the Gators in my prognostication. They will be minus a 12th game and I don't see them losing just one more game. They could be lucky to be 6-5 and could easily be 5-6 or worse.

Maybe. Or maybe it's just a down year for the conference's depth. Of the three best opponents on Georgia's schedule, two are non-conference teams, one is an SEC West team, and none are in the SEC East. In a typical SEC season, conference mates would be at least 3 of the 4 toughest opponents on any team's schedule.

I think it’s unquestionably a down year.

Sagarin still has the SEC 5th. But he has the SEC West as the toughest division. The SEC East is the weakest division in the P5.
