Well. So far, it's been a fairly humdrum week for those who are playing for the season championship. Up to now, the favorites have won 10 games, with two games remaining to be played.

For those of you who will stay up till the last whistle, here's how we stand.

In a nutshell, if Florida beats A&M, then Wilkie wins. If they don't, Wilkie is eliminated.

In that case, if San Diego State wins, CollegeCard gets the win outright this week. If Boise State wins, then 4x4hokies ties him for the week with 11 correct picks, and holds onto his slim one game lead in the overall race.

The only thing that could upset all that is if one or both of the remaining games are called on account of weather, bringing the alternates into play.

Congratulations to 4x4hokies who notched his second weekly win, and to CollegeCard with his first win of the season. 4x4 snatched victory from the jaws of defeat last night by correctly picking both upset winners. Both players finished at 11-4, just one win ahead of Wilkie01.

All of them deserve lavish praise and positive rep points for their performance.

The giant killers yesterday were Clemson and Louisville, which all 12 players remaining in the season contest picked to win, plus Maryland and Boise State which were picked by 10 players each.

I'll post the updated season standings this afternoon.

With 6 more weeks to go, there is still plenty of time to close the gap with the leaders. A couple of years ago one player held a five game lead at this point and was caught with a week to spare. It can be done. Of course, it goes without saying you don't want to have many weeks where you give up four games to the leaders, like I did this week. Slow and steady can win this race.
