Rick Pitino fired today!

Rick passed a polygraph concerning the allegations that he was fired for. How can Jurich be fired for not knowing about something Rick didn't do?
CJ
Polygraphs are a joke. They are not used as evidence because it has repeatedly been proven that they can not tell if a person is lying. They are nothing more than a PR gimmick.

Should that CEO get fired if one of His employees robs a bank during lunch hour ? Lol it happened where I used to work for 30 years. The robber got jail time and nothing happened to the CEO.
Terrible analogy. The CEO will go down if he signs a contract that he is not authorized to. The CEO will go down if a major division is repeatedly caught violating rules. The CEO will go down if a senior manager didn't properly oversee his division and places the organization in the middle of a FBI investigation. The CEO will go down if he places the parent company in jeopardy.
According to news reports last night the contract was shown to and approved by BOT and previous interim president Pinto ,that got another Presidents job elsewhere. Guess Postel wasn't in on it and some BOT members moved on
Correct. This nonsense that there was anything inappropriate about the Adidas deal is bogus & just bs by Postel. Even Tyra has said that there isn't anything inappropriate about it & zero reason to redo it. Postel could have learned a lot about negotiations from Jurich.

That's fair but the point still remains. It doesn't matter if there is 1 or 100,000 employees. The CEO is still responsible for actions of the employees that they do as an employee. Robing a bank is not an employee action. Depositing that money in a company account is an employee action and the CEO is responsible.

The essence of the allegations is that UofL assistant coach Jordan Fair knew of money being moved from Adidas employees to the Bowen family. As UofL is an Adidas school Fair was advocating for Bowen to come to UofL. If there were no other “bidders” involved Adidas could have very well offered $50. This isn’t about Adidas having to pay a kid $100,000 to get him away from Nike who is only offering brand and good will.
NO $ went through UofL imo and what this is is Adidas, like other suiters, trying to buy future representation and sending them to one of their affiliates.

I'm not so sure. Are you going to base someone on 1 bad egg & discount all of his other employees? There's always going to be a bad egg, so I guess every CEO should be fired? It was Jurich job to run the entire athletic department & not to watch every single assistant coach. The responsibility for monitoring assistant coaches falls on the head coach. The NCAA didn't hit Jurich with a "failure to monitor" penalty & they didn't claim lack of institutional control either. Do you actually think that a CEO actually knows what the guys in the mailroom are doing 24/7? Doesn't monitoring the mailroom staff fall on to their supervisor? If not, why have supervisors? Now if Pitino can directly be tied in with McGee or Fair then you can make a strong case to terminate Jurich but those connections haven't been made yet nor publicly claimed by the UofL. There was ample reason to fire Pitino, even after McGee. Jurich wasn't given an opportunity to do his job after the FBI report. I'm not saying that there isn't cause to fire Jurich but the university should have offered an explanation instead of weaseling out of it by dunking & hiding. I'm not sure that the CEO/Jurich situation is exactly apples to apples.
