How many people had this game circled on their calendars when the season started?

Florida State - BC kickoff is at 8PM tonight. Get your picks in before then to avoid a loss by forfeit.

RE: Pickem Week 9 is open
After some sobering results last week, the number of upset picks has lessened considerably. Let's see if it helps.

Picks this week look like this:

FSU..........7...BC............5
OK State...9...WVU.........3
Miami.......11..UNC.........1
L'ville........9...Wake........3
Pitt...........9...Virginia.....3
ND...........10..NC State...2
Mich St.....11..N'west......1
Ohio St......9...Penn St....3
TCU..........11..Iowa St....1
Indiana......6...Maryland..6
USCe........12..Vandy......0
A&M.........10..Miss St.....2
Va Tech.....12..Duke.......0
Kentucky....6...Tenn........6
Clemson....11..Ga Tech...1

With a point spread of only 2 1/2 I had expected more players to pick Northwestern. That could be a big swing for one bold picker, who shall remain nameless. I'm not sure "bold" is the adjective I'd have used for the intrepid souls who picked UNC and Ga Tech, but they could come up big also if they are right. Iowa State's more of a tweener point spread. All four of those upsets were picked by a different player.

Should be an interesting day. Good luck to all.

Watching this FSU game is making me rethink some picks. This was a tough week.

Edit: I decided to sit tight. WVU, Wake, and ISU are tempting. I'm already the only one out on the limb with a pick I see so best stay put.

I'm surprised 75% of the crowd underestimated or forgot how spectacularly bad the Louisville defense is. I truly hope Sirmon is fired after one season as coordinator.

I think the fact that FSU's offense last week only scored 21 on the UofL D shows how rough their situation is as well.

I never in my life thought that I would witness Bobby Petrino call a play against his own QB. I am sorry for Jawon. He needs to transfer. This has gone over the rails and every player that can needs to do what is best for them.

Per Clawson post game....

He will say something like this.....

Lamar is a great QB and will be tremendous in the NFL. What a great competitor he is. He took all we gave and what a great kid he is. Our kids are just better. I love my kids.

It's a bad season for sure but lets not go overboard. Lets not forget until the last 2 regular season games to end last season that the Cards were in the CFP hunt. Lets not forget about Lamar winning the Heisman. This is the first time since Bobby came back that we aren't ranked in the top 25 I believe, an accomplishment shared by only a handful of teams.

To the Cards fans calling for Bobby to be fired & bringing in Brohm, it's not happening. The university isn't in a financial situation to do it even if it wanted to. We have the money lost due to the NCAA sanctions & the lawsuits looming over the firing of Pitino & Jurich. Brohm also had a $15 million buyout at Purdue I believe, where is all of this money supposed to come from? Things are worse in Tallahassee, should Jimbo be fired? Come on guys, lets tone down the rhetoric over 1 bad season.

Just my opinion, Bobby saw what happened in the fan base when he opened it up with Bolin last year. He did not call a play that would showcase Puma this game. If the head coach is holding back it doesn't mean I should.

Shoulda changed to Wake and ISU but being the only one to pick Northwestern seemed like a big enough gamble.

You seriously think Petrino was calling simplistic plays for the three snaps with Pass in the game so that Jawon wouldn't succeed?

I think that is beyond a ridiculous conspiracy theory to be honest.
