ACC Ranked-vs-Ranked Down the Stretch
Based on the latest AP Top 25 15, it looks like the 2nd half of the ACC season is going to be filled with ranked-on-ranked match-ups:

RK TEAM
1 Alabama
2 Penn State
3 Georgia
4 TCU
5 Wisconsin
6 Ohio State
7 Clemson
8 Miami
9 Notre Dame
10 Oklahoma
11 Oklahoma State
12 Washington
13 Virginia Tech
14 NC State
15 Washington State

COMMENTS: There are four ACC teams (plus Notre Dame) in the top 15. A couple of years ago that would've been unheard of.

Upcoming ACC top 15 matchups include:
#14 NC State @ #9 Notre Dame (this week)
Clemson vs. NC State
Miami vs. Notre Dame
Miami vs. Virginia Tech
(future rankings TBD)

None of that is counting games against Georgia Tech (Clemson and Virginia Tech), nor am I counting the annual Clemson/Florida State game. Plus we'll still have the ACC/SEC Rivalry Week games and the ACC Championship Game.

Could you have even imagined this 4 years ago?

I would not have imagined Florida State not on that list. I would have also expected Louisville to be in the top 25.

Agreed. I'm sure you don't mind seeing NC State, tough.

The Pack has earned their top 15 spot this year. Just imagine how tough the ACC is going to be when Louisville & FSU returns to the top 25 as well.

Definitely expect that from FSU next season (healthy QB).

Louisville may depend on whether Petrino is still there - could be a step back if not.

I assume that when that happens, other ACC teams currently enjoying their high ranking will drop down. I don't think it's realistic to think that Louisville's and FSU's resurgence would only come at the expense of other conferences. Conference play tends to do that - for every conference game won there is a conference game lost.

Also, if other conference teams also improve, that could mean some additional losses for those at the top.

I think the key there will be keeping a majority of the top Florida recruits in the ACC. I think this will be possible with FSU & Clemson being consistent title contenders & with the resurgence of teams like Miami & VT. Not to mention that the SEC East is down. Control Florida & hold our own in Georgia, North Carolina & others & there's enough there to feed the ACC.

Interesting, you count Notre Dame as an ACC team. Not in football.
