SOS:
UCF - 59
UW - 60

MOV:
UCF - 29.8
UW - 23.3

Home games:
UW - 5
UCF - 3

If UCF/UW finish 13-0, we're likely facing a scenario where UCF has 3 T25 wins and UW has 1. Hopefully for your sake, Sparty doesn't win the East. Bucky is having a great season, but I absolutely would NOT be casting stones at UCF in your shoes. Be thankful for preseason rankings.

Sometimes "crapping on" is done because it's deserved.

I also see several threads where the AAC fanboys rant & rave about how "good" they are and how they "deserve" to play with the big boys. Talk about insecurity. It's like the little brother who has a tantrum because he can't play with the bigger kids.

To throw a Rock quote at them "Know your role and shut your mouth".

If that bowl scenario would take place and UW (or whichever P5 team) stomps a mud-hole in whatever the leftovers throw at them, I won't gloat too much.

Deserved why? Because another team has played an equivalent schedule (to this point) with an equivalent record, and it possible that someone may think they are better than yours?

I would take you up on your 0-13 bet in no time flat. Yes, there are some teams I would bet on to beat UCF, others look pretty even, and a couple O like our odds against.

SOS ratings such as Sagarin say Wisky has played a tougher schedule than UCF.

UCF has played a soft schedule so far. You just make yourselves feel better by noting that USFs is even softer

1) My reply was to his comment of UCF going 0-13 against the top 15 other than Memphis. Are you agreeing with that?

2) I said equivalent - Sagarin has Wisconsin ranked 8, SOS 62, UCF ranked 15, SOS 86, and others have it closer, so equivalent of not completely equal.

3) I said nothing about USF whatsoever, not sure what you're referring to. I would make the same case on point 1) for USF as I would for UCF.

I only responded to the point about SOS, so had/have no comment on the other stuff. But I'll take your word for it. 04-cheers

The top half of the AAC is no different that than the middle of the pack of any Power 5, they just don't have the blue bloods propping up their value due to brand association.

Big 10 named some AAC schools and ARMY as P5 schools. Not the whole conference. Just the academies, UConn. and Cincinnati are the ones. PAC 12 give several MWC schools P5 type status as part of the SOS.

RE: Central Florida is number 2!
Here is the question? If realignment takes place. How many of these D2 schools that are inside of the top 250 would get invited up to replace schools that moves? With Georgia Southern at 255 and Texas Southern at 423 on the computer rankings? You got to wonder if some of these schools could actually help boast up some of the FCS conferences in football? Central Washington is stronger than most of the Big Sky schools right now. Indianapolis could be a perfect fit for the MVC/MVFC school.

As it is, I do think the top D2 conferences could be D1 conferences right now like Lone Star, the Missouri conference, The Great lakes region, RMAC, and the Minnesota schools are perfect examples. I could throw in Gulf South Conference. They are better than Big South, NEC, Patriot, MEAC and SWAC right now.

You hit the nail on the head, and it shows how the whole system is eventually doomed to fail. There is absolutely ZERO uniformity. The College Football structure does not speak with one voice. Every Conference speaks with a different tone of voice specifically fitting their specific narrative or needs. This includes scheduling with who considers who a P5, who gets into the playoff, TV deals, exposure, football camps, bowl tie ins (cough cough ACC Orange Bowl) etc etc. Initially it may be stable because the power brokers (P5 conferences) are making tons of money. However, that eventually wont be enough.
One will eventually be jealous of another. I am just waiting for the sparks to fly if there are TWO SEC teams along with ND in the playoffs this year. Eventually, the passive aggressive hostility will burn the house down.

I do like Wolfe's ratings, especially the way he includes 763 colleges, but I agree UCF is not number 2.

I ran my own calculation and had them at 10.

1. Bama
2. Penn Sate
3. Georgia
4. Wisconsin
5. Notre Dame
6. Clemson
7. Ohio State
8. TCU
9. Miami
10. UCF

Other G5's

25. Memphis
26. South Florida
32. Boise State

That includes all the new teams this year, and the 3 unclassified schools of Apprentice, Virginia University of Lynchburg and Trinity Bible. Next year, 8 new teams will be joining them.
Alvernia
Clarke, iowa
Indiana Wesleyan
Keiser
Lawrence Tech
University of New England
Ottawa, Arizona
Wheeling Jesuit

Minus one team, St. Joseph's Indiana.

RE: Central Florida is number 2!
Rather that replying to numerous posts that made me laugh, I'll sum it up in one.

The UCF/USFs of the world are equivalent of the preteens who cry about having to sit at the kids table for Thanksgiving dinner. They WANT to be seen as adults, but they're not ready to sit at the big table without the aid of several phonebooks to boost them up. All the temper tantrums and hissy fits doesn't change that. The "big boys" run the show, be thankful they allow you the chance to be involved in the conversation of a NYD game.

Sure, one pf the pipsqueaks might pull a rabbit out of the hat and score a W against a P5 school in a bowl game, but as the old saying goes "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while." It's the EXCEPTION, not the norm and the occasional exception isn't reason enough to include them in the conversation.

It's not just about Wisconsin, if you look at the top 20 in that list, each and every one of them would stomp a mud hole in the AAC champ and runner up.

Wishing you were a princess doesn't make it so.

USF & UCF would be competitive in a P5 conference. Saying they could not beat a top 20 school is just ignorant.

I pretty much agree that UCF should be about #10. They are pretty awesome. Only team to beat us this year, and only team to shut us down.

Some of the post here speak to some of the smug arrogance that some fans of P5 teams have. Athletics is about competitiveness and proving it on the field every time you walk out on that field or court or what venue the sport is hosted in. Only sport that does not do this through a true playoff to show who is the superior team is Div 1 FB, every other sport be it HS or lower Div FB settle it on the field, not so Div 1. Mind numbing to me a large majority of the public, is willing to accept this fraud being perpetrated on them as legit, to determining a CFB, Div 1, NC.

LOL.

Your argument reminds me of a buddy's Dad who used to own a Corvette. He'd brag and boast about how it was "just as fast as a Ferrari". No one ever had the heart to tell the truth which was that EVEN IF its as "fast as a Ferrari", it ISN'T A FERRARI. At the end of the day, the guy driving the Ferrari will still be driving a Ferrari and the guy in the Vette will still be in a Chevy.

The Chevy is a perfectly decent car in it's own class, but it ain't a Ferrari. Same for football, the leftovers (or leftouts if you prefer) are the Chevys, the P5 are the Ferraris.
