Y'all went through all that pain and suffering (some arguably needed but I bet some not) and your still considered "convicts".
Despite all that y'all have done, the media and certain schools still branding you "Convicts"
I guess you can only do so much.
Maybe this is just me, but the label of "convicts" to Miami now, doesn't hold the same meaning as it did.
It takes me back to a time when Miami football was the undisputed king, and the players were amazing, and played with a swagger that is unmatched, in any team, before or since.
Agree. I find it more of a reflection of time when football at Miami was relevant. Richt is as clean up and righteous as they come. If the media wants to rehash it, or if select ND fans want to rekindle it, then I believe it will only build a greater desire for Miami player to win. I don't see it being a detriment. And in jest, I have sent some ND friends emails mentioning the Convicts vs. Catholics mention. It's all in fun, and when play begins, it will be important what happens between the lines rather on keyboards, print or social media. Go Canes!!!

Honestly to me, it also now almost seems like it could mean elitists vs. regular people at this point even though that originally wasn’t the intention.
The "Convicts" designation may arguably been applicable to Miami in the Eighties and early Nineties, perhaps, but not now.....as far as I know.
But how you get "elitists vs. regular people" out of "Catholics vs. Convicts" escapes me.
I am looking for a good game. I have no idea who will play better on Saturday night.
I also am a little perplexed with the "elitist" mention. Just who is who with that mention?
