We've played Grad Transfer from Mississippi State, Damian Williams, about 80% of the snaps this year with true freshman Willie Jones III taking the other 20%. We're wondering if now that we've lost our 7th game and no longer have bowl eligibility if Willie starts getting more snaps to get him ready for 2018. Guess we'll see on Saturday.
Ahh yes. Remember him torching us to end the 2014 season. Let's hope the new guy gets some quality game time!

Damian Williams had a monster game against App. I've been a bit disappointed at his performances since then. If he had played all season like he played in that game, I think TXST's season looks a bit different.

Honestly the team is all over the place. I would say good run defense, average to poor pass defense. On offense they can look really bad or make some big plays. Watch for a lot of running the ball and then a shot down field.

I'd go with young but improving. The offensive line is young too so there are some growing pains. Give it a year or two and the team will be upperclassmen and hopefully very good.

The offense, while largely offensive the first 5 or 6 games (largely unable to produce points), has shown an ability to score some points the past 4 weeks . . . so there's that . .

2017 TXST INFO

If your team pretty much relies on running the ball then you are playing to our defensive strength. If you throw down the field you are going to win the game in the 2nd half. TXST is young with hardly any depth.

I'm guessing they will double Penny to keep him in check, though Southern did the same thing and it didn't quite work. It's time for Manning to make some other air connections!

It's kind of ridiculous. Even when they try to pull Hart out of it, they fail. For that first half of the game against Southern we were using other receivers, but in the end it was Hart that made all the difference.

Even though Hart eventually found ways to get open in the 2nd half, Georgia Southern game was the perfect opportunity for Jones, Gentry, or Boyd to step up as the #2 receiver. No one wanted it.

One bright spot from the Southern game, I think we found out that freshman Roger Carter is a solid #2 TE. Big body, nice hands, good blocker, and most importantly, a threat in the endzone. I would even go far as to say that Carter might be a more complete TE than Werts.

Crowd sucks but four wins in two years will do that. And the only two home wins in that span are FCS games.

The way our last two seasons have gone, I'll take positive comments from anyone.

Besides, game's being played in TX . . gotta expect a little Homerism . .

Panthers TD . . .

Hey Panthers, noticed y'all have a kid out there named Werts . . .

Any relation to Southern's QB?

GAST 10-7
