Herd fan here just looking to see who we will play in Bahamas Bowl?
Please just don't send a team with a pulse on offense.
Thanks, and see one of you in the Bahamas...

NIU, Ohio and Akron look like front runners.

Couple projections had WMU in the Bahamas. Not sure if that changed after the loss to Central Michigan.

We're still candidates then.
But any guesses as to who is going where are just that, complete guesses.

We need another one and one deal with Marshall. I miss that rivalry in the 90s

The 110 have been told most likely scenario for Ohio is Bahama Bowl and, if so, they can only take about 70 members. Bahama bowl makes most sense, as OU did Mobile Bowl last year and Montgomery Bowl the year before. I guess they could end up back in Idaho, as it's been 6 years since last trip there.

Wow, interesting! going from, what?, about 250 members for a halftime show to only 70? that sounds like more of a Varsity Band (for basketball games) kind of thing. maybe they will still do a post-game of just the classics like they do at home every game but I can't see them doing any sort of pre-game or halftime show with only 70 members.

I wonder if the university just doesn't have the money to take everyone from the band. That can't be a cheap ticket to the Bahamas.

Take a bus to Ft Lauderdale and take a day cruise ship over and back.

We (WMU) didn't take our band when we played in the Bahamas Bowl.
I know the players all got passports last week.

hmmm...that's interesting about not taking the band but yeah I can imagine it would be hugely expensive and a major hassle to get all of those passports. a bummer for the band members, though, who supported the team all year only to get left out in the end. but understandable for sure.

My senior year I asked our band director what we'd do if we went to the Bahamas. He said the athletic department would pay for us to take 50 of us, focus on the seniors with other instruments as needed. Didn't matter anyways, we sucked that year.

Ohio uses a charter from Rickenbacher. The University only allocates 70 seats on it to 110 for bowl games they can’t bus entire band to. initially, for Idaho bowl in 2011, the University offered 80 seats. But rescinded 10 seats after taking in consideration weight of instruments. The band was able to negotiate with the University to provide commercial seats for those 10 who were told they were going instead of ripping the trip from them.
