Notre Dame vs. Miami Poll
Who wins?
Who dominates?

You can vote on how you expect their team to win, AND on liking or hating the Turnover chain.

This is only a 2 day poll so vote now.

Irish win, because I am rooting for Miami.

Ambivalent about the turnover chain.

The Turnover chain is one of those representations that players like for their team, and most all other players on other teams hate. In reading stories of past ND and "U" games, there was one where Tim Brown of ND had a personally embroidered towel given to him that he cherished. Proudly wore it in all games. When Miami played ND, Canes players all wanted to hijack the towel from Brown, which they did, triumphantly waving it taunting ND. BTW, Brown got his sentimental towel back and the rivalry became a little more intense. All in good fun and great for college football.

Even Corso wearing his gold and green beads couldn't dampen GameDay for the Canes faithful. One premier ass kicking. Didn't see this coming. Which begs the questions? Is Miami this good? Is ND that mediocre?

I think the turnover chain is the greatest thing ever. So Miami. The players and coaches seem to love it so good for them. Whatever works.

I think Miami is that good, but I also think they benefited greatly from starting the season easy. It gave a young team time to gel.

The game time mention was that it didn't show up other teams mistakes. That Miami kids raced to the sidelines to rejoice with teammates rather than to taunt the opposition. That's a great symbol for team unity.

What equally impressed me was Miami only had one penalty. No personal fouls of late hits to the QB or out of bounds plays. Miami played smart.

That's the attitude winners adopt. Reveling by taunting the opposition is rat poison.

Agree 100%. If anything the ND players, once frustration set in after their debacle play, attempted to taunt when the ND QB scored. He did his best to get in the face of UM players immediately after the score. Miami played smart and let their on field play dominate and not get hijacked by a losing player's frustration.

The Canes from the late 80's to early 2000's were the Yankees of college football. I went to the 2003 WS when the Marlins beat the Yankees. It was electric because it was the Yankees. If we had played a small market team, it would have been exciting, but it was a little extra exciting because it was the Yankees.

And the Canes had that appeal/hatred notoriety during their run. And they have it back, as far as scheduled season games goes. The ideal would be obviously to win out in the ACC, beat Clemson in the ACC championship game, then ultimately win the national championship.

If the Canes do stumble and lose a game, it will still be a great season. If they lose to Clemson and then a post season game, they'll be even more motivated next year to surpass this year. But this team, like those great teams from the past, wants to win a national championship. Anything less than that this year will be perceived as the Canes being near back.

The Canes being back, in the current players eyes, and in the former players who have come back to support the current crop of players, means only one things. Winning it all. And I just purchased tickets to this Saturday's VA game. Go Canes!!!!!
