The CIT only invites mid-major teams that are .500 or better. The CBI doesn't seem to care about records or conference if you're willing to pay the 50K entry fee.

Anybody else inspired by Loyola’s run and think that little team could be us someday?
Why not us?

And on a side note, who ya pullin’ for the rest of the way. I hope an ACC team or Michigan wins.

This has been the craziest tourny with lower seeds winning. At least it seems that way.

Obviously, I'll always cheer for Liberty and Cuse, but after them, I always pull for the little guys.

RE: 2017-2018 Basketball Season
This year had no elite teams; everyone kept losing. If there was a year that a 16 would upset a 1, this would have been a good bet and it actually happened. I wish we were the first to do it but it doesn't matter now as I would rather be known for winning championships.

I think we can build a winner here and just making the tournament is a big deal. I want that to be an expectation. I can't wait for our first "run".

We will have the battle of the Flames on Wednesday night in the Vines Center. Illinois-Chicago is the only other DI school who uses the Flames nickname.

RE: 2017-2018 Basketball Season
Welp, season over. Overall, I'd give us a C or C+ grade for the year. Too much of a roller coaster ride to have a B grade. We nearly salvaged the season by winning the conference tournament but we couldn't pull it off. We could have won the CIT tournament but choked. Just too many missed opportunities this year but a solid foundation for next year!

Agreed. This was a successful, maybe even a good season, but it left a lot of fruit on the vine. 22 wins is great! 15 losses is not. I agree, the season was a C+.

Apparently, I was the bad luck. The only two games I made it to, we lost. The first was to Longwood and then the CIT semis vs. UIC. Sorry guys. 03-banghead
