Divisional races (CCGs)
Teams that clinched CCG berths today:

Miami and Clemson (ACC)

USC

Wisconsin

So with Georgia clinching last week, five of ten berths in P5 title games are filled.

RE: Divisional races (CCGs)
looks in the G5 that 1 of the 8 spots is filled- North Texas looks like they represent the West in the title game. FAU can clinch next week with a win over FIU.

Also, Memphis can clinch the west in AAC with a win over SMU. If that happens, along with USF beating Tulsa on Thursday- the AAC will be guaranteed to have no worse than a 2 loss champion.

Turns out the Big 12 probably pocked the wrong year to start a CCg. Probably can only hurt the league.

Yes, people forget it's a two-edged sword, and that the Big 12 did make the playoffs without a CCG two years ago. Oklahoma would be a lock for a playoff spot if they just won their final two regular season games, but now have the peril of the CCG as well.

Pac 12- 10-2 USC vs ???

PAC 12 is pretty simple:

1) Wazzou controls their destiny - beat Washington and they win the PAC North.

2) Stanford: Beat Cal, and have Washington beat Washington State.

3) Washington: Beat Utah and Washington State, and have Cal upset Stanford.

Because Cal/Stanford is a week before Washington/Wazzou, either Stanford will be eliminated (if they lose to Cal) or Washington will be eliminated (if Stanford beats Cal) by the time the Apple Cup is played. Also, Washington would be eliminated if they lost to Utah next week as well. Wazzou is idle until the Apple Cup.

So it's possible that Wazzou could clinch the North before their game vs Washington, if Stanford and Washington both lose next weekend.

That's it.

Yep, it's stupid

Should have either added teams or left it at a round robin

Fixed if for you since the PAC doesn’t play their CCG on Saturday with the rest. Replaced them with the MWC who does. And I have Auburn in over Bamer. It will be a Fun day indeed.

San Diego St to have any chance needs Fresno to lose to Wyoming. Otherwise, Fresno clinches their division. Otherwise it could be 8-4 Fresno St vs 10-2 Boise St in a rematch of a game that happened just the week before.

It hurts when you win conference play outright but now you have to win one more game. It doesn't hurt when 2-3 schools have one conference loss each and you need another data point to separate.

You are correct Sir. I looked ahead and picked Wyoming to win out. They have have been looking tough and their potential #1 pick Allen is finally looking good.
Big 12 will also feature a recent rematch. TCU vs OU in Texas. Now that will be a dumb idea (CCG) if OU loses.

Exactly. The B12's problem is that they still only have 10 teams and play the round-robin conference schedule. Let's say the B12 had added two, split into divisions and played only 8 conference games (ideal scenario for maximizing the value of the CCG). The CCG would likely still be Oklahoma v. TCU, but both teams would be 9-1 right now and ranked in the top-8.

The Big 12 should add two right now:
UCF: obviously look the best now, but the directional name kills them. The start up program kills them with the country club boys.
USF: obviously looks good now but see UCF. And they are only 1 of 3 schools in college football that doesn’t have a football stadium. The country club boys really hate that.
Memphis: has everything going for it except 1 thing. That one thing didn’t hurt Louisville getting into the ACC though...anything is possible with Louisville getting into the ACC I guess....That one thing is one word and it starts with an A.
Colorado St: looks like a cartel school in every single way. Average athletics right now. They’d be my top pick if I was Big 12 commish.
Cincinnati: they’d be my #12 after Colorado St if I was Big 12 commish as they look like a cartel school in every way.
Tulane: no athletic success. Otherwise an obvious pick
Rice: no athletic success whatsoever. Otherwise an obvious pick.
Uconn: looks like a cartel school in every way except they are an FBS newbie and in New England. A conference stretching from Texas to New England looks ridiculous.

No one else would be considered. Add Cincinnati and Colorado St to the Big 12 and be done with it.

RE: Divisional races (CCGs)
With Stanford's win over Cal, Washington has been eliminated from divisional contention.

So the PAC north comes down to the Apple Cup: Wazzoo beats Washington and they win it, Washington beats Wazzoo and Stanford advances to the PAC title game.
