If that happened I think the Sunbelt would send Ark State or troy to play Florida State. I think Georgia State is going to Orlando or Montgomery

If the Sunbelt have a matchup vs Florida State, I'm for sending Ark State or Troy vs them. I think they have a better chance of beating them than Ga State or App State.

Both but the Sunbelt League Office is going to help direct the bowl to pick the best match ups.

There is somethings the Sunbelt really need to avoid:

-A TROY vs OHIO match up
-App State playing in Montgomery
-A lower tier Sunbelt team playing a P5 team
-Arizona Bowl match ups with anyone expect NMSU or Idaho

If San Diego State goes to the Arizona bowl, we call dibs.

Officially no, but unofficially yes.

If the Independence Bowl woke up one day and decided "Gee, I'd really love to take Georgia State to play Florida State in a bowl" then they'd get their wish. However if they go to the Sun Belt and say "Hey, you guys, give us Troy or we're not taking one of your teams." Then Troy is getting sent to Shreveport whether anyone else likes it or not.

The reality is the ACC would throw a fit if the Sun Belt was their only choice of opponent, and ESPN, through the magic of horse trading would satisfy the kings, and likely send someone else to Shreveport and leave the Sun Belt with another bowl, probably against a G5 team.

Alternative Reality is there is no way the I Bowl is going to take Georgia State based on zero history of proven attendance, an FCS loss, and zero bowl history. They'd almost certainly go after another SBC school.

Side Note, has anyone ever figured out if Sporting News hires a drunk to pick their bowls for them? Those bowl predictions are wild, and way off.

Almost every dude I've known at Georgia State followed college football but just don't really care about G5 teams (it might sound really arrogant but that is the reality of having a school in Atlanta)
