Before injury he was sitting at 2801 yards, 27 TDs and 5 INTs, with 18 quarters remaining including a bowl game and was on streak of 9 quarters without a pick and was on a tear in San Antonio at 8-11 98 yards and a TD when he went down.

So you're saying you think that in 18 healthy quarters Stock couldn't have done better than ~1500 yards, 10 TDs, 2 INTs?

If Stock had played that full season their yardage would be similar, Stock would have thrown more TDs and similar picks.

White would have had the more effecient year on a better team, but only in your unbelievably biased mind, would it be "nonsense" to suggest that those seasons would have been close.

They had the same number of attempts and White had over 1000 yards more, lol

The only biased posters are ones from WKy and MTSU.

Nice sidestep.

So if Stock's season had been 364-570 4397 yards 42 TDs 8 INTs, that's "nowhere close" based on more attempts? Like I said, it still would have been better season to White, but no, it's not nonsense to suggest those seasons are close.

And just because you aren't a fan of either school does make you immune to bias.

Absolutely. Why would you compare guys with a different number of attempts? We arent talking a small sample either, this is 400 attempts. Stockstill would have needed 150 more attempts to reach the yardage White had.

Because different systems, different teams, different scenarios all ask different things of the man under center.

Those extrapolated stats included five more TDs and just one more INT than White threw.

You act as if there is this chasm between the two QBs, that is what is truly nonsense, but your argument is entirely predicated on White's one season under Brohm.

The picture will become much clearer when both players have completed their eligibility.

You didn't even watch the game Friday...

Done with this. This is dumb. Throwing for more yards per attempt is better than less. No coach says we only want 7 ypa

This was always dumb, I'll repeat you were never right about Stock and you aren't right now either.

UTSA has a terrible offense. But we have a great QB coming in next year Frank Harris. He will turn some heads and be on the look out for him the next 2-4 years. He RS this year. But him and another great RB BJ Daniels will be a good combo.

The defense will be better too, which is already good.

I like Mason fine .

I agree, of the QB’s UTSA played against this year I’d have to say Mason Fine was the best of them. He literally got pounded into the turf and still got up and beat us.

I really, REALLY hate admitting this, but it’s true.

Note: Please ignore what I just said because it’s the last somewhat nice thing that will ever come out of my mouth about the JC music school to the north of us.

Possibly but Mike White wrapped up the 1st team All-CUSA slot after his 485 yard / 5 TD performance vs MTSU. Book it.

Mason Fine -- sophomore. Mike White -- R/S Senior

If it's a close call, it will go to the senior. They have two more years to recognize Fine.

No one can be definite about any conference selection because no one sees all the games. So you base your selections on what you have seen on video or in person, stats, reputations or team success.

With that preamble, I can't believe that any QB in the league is better than Mason Fine.

Maybe ... usually the teams that finish at the top of the conference win the tiebreakers. Perhaps CUSA does things a little different.

I think there's a good case to be made for several players. That's a good problem for a conference to have.

Just watched the Fine highlights clip. OK Mean Green fans -- please understand this is as good a compliment as you can get from a Monarch fan. Fine reminds me of Taylor Heinicke -- not as big as everyone wants, but one hell of a talent and a competitor extraordinaire. In his four years at ODU, TH threw for 14,959 yards and 132 TDs. I think Fine looks like that kind of QB.

Cheers!

Man Mason Fine is tiny, how does he not get killed? Fine is a sophomore, he has next season and year after to make his mark, You would have to give the edge to WHite, he has better numbers with a worse OL then North Texas....

Eeh...I don't know. UNT's o-line is young and not very good. Not a slight on UNT just what I have seen. Its really more of a testament to Fine and Wilson making plays. Sure no QB gets sacked more than White but he is a statue in the backfield compared to a very speedy Mason Fine.

I have to agree with Digi here. I've only seen one WKU game but their line looked much more solid. When pressure got to White it was usually after he held the ball. I would say on a solid 15% of our snaps Fine has to start scrambling as soon as he catches the ball because a blitzer is almost beating the ball to him.

This is why we have a lot of designed rollouts.
