RE: Troy vs Idaho discussion
Troy, and App State for that matter, are very average teams right now trending toward being bad teams.

RE: Troy vs Idaho discussion
I can see why there's a little misunderstanding about how Troy has looked. Some mistakes and quite a few young guys mixed in in the second half. NB has been doing it to season some of the frosh players. I don't necessarily agree with that but I ain't getting paid for it either...

The thing is, both teams are good enough to break out of their funk at any moment and go on a tear.

RE: Troy vs Idaho discussion
We're all guilty of it, myself especially. It's human nature to want to believe your opponents are not as good as advertised.
That said, we have some issues on offense for sure. The talent at the skill positions is much better and deeper than last year. We lost a lot of leadership and talent on the offensive line and that's having an effect on our performance. We've playing tight all season and it seems the expectations of what we were supposed to be have not been handled well. Maybe Coastal and Texas State will help us loosen up a bit on offense so we can at least have a decent showing at ARKST.
As for the defense, this is the best defense Troy has ever had, and we've had some really good ones. It's also the best scoring defense statistically the Sun Belt has had in over a decade, and the second best total defense in that span.
The next two weeks will tell us if we have the leadership to take advantage of the offensive talent we have. And to be fair, the passing game is the only thing we lack right now. We've finally found a kicker. Tyler Sumpter has been awesome. Two games to iron out the passing game before heading to Jonesboro.

To be fair, the way you guys were trending, I'd probably consider any kicker who could consistently make a short FG "awesome"

Kicker has been making the field goals lately. Has a 40 harder right down the middle with Idaho
