Baptized in the waters of the Senate Ethics Committee
Franken, Menendez, why not Moore and those to come? Crawl through to the other side and come out clean?

SenateShank Redemption?

RE: Baptized in the waters of the Senate Ethics Committee
Did Mitch compromise the Ethics Committee with his comments regarding Moore? Did Franken compromise the Senate Ethics Committee by pleading his case go there? Is the Senate Ethics Committee another 9th Circuit?

Franken's quickness to call for an investigation into himself makes me think this committee is a joke.

DC and Hollywood just don't understand what a bubble they live in. This sort of stuff hasn't been tolerated in corporate America for decades. Probably not since the 70s.

Its apparently been tolerated in the corporations run by liberals. Jeff Bezos has some guys in high places that are still there despite chasing down lesbians and telling them how they are going to love their d*cks.

They were saying on Twin cities radio that the next 72 hours could determine Fanken's career. If something big comes out this weekend than the "investigation" will go largely unnoticed and while he will never be a VP pick he will survive as a Senator.

Why does everything with you have to come back to simplistic partisanship? This statement is absurd, of course conservative run companies have this problem too unless you've forgotten the bloodbath at Fox, but not everything is about left or right, or liberal or conservative.

Stop with this absurd tribalism, and discuss this topic like an adult.

The Senate ethics committee? Where charges against Senators go to die. What possible penalties are we talking about? Censure? Oh my God... The inhumanity!!!! Senators judging each other should not be allowed.

I get that personally attacking the person making a statement is easier than addressing the very real problem they're bringing up, but you might want to make that deflection a little less obvious to those people reading.

I heard a talking head say that one person in 40 years had been censured or something preposterous to that effect.

I also read that franken won his seat by 300 votes but there were 1100 fraudulent votes...fwiw

RE: Baptized in the waters of the Senate Ethics Committee
Democrats plan has been spoiled. They disown the retired Bill Clinton (while saying nothing about Hillary's enablement) and justify their own enablement with the "vast right wing conspiracy" talk. And then go after Moore and Trump. But now Al Franken has thrown a monkey wrench into their plans.

"...It all rings hollow, but, of course, there is a good reason it rings hollow.

It is hollow.

But without the icy tears of calculated contrition, they couldn't proceed on the Democratic action plan.

Now the Franken explosion complicates that strategy, which only a few days ago was quite clear: Hound Moore as a monster, cast Republicans as either abusers of women or supporters of sexual abuse, and shame them, shame them, shame them.

And forge it all into another Year of the Women campaign to be used ultimately against President Donald Trump, whose history with women is ugly and boorish at best..."
