oh yes. AAC is still G5 and I should've led with that. I was talking about making that next leap in "our lifetime." But then again, I'm probably younger than you as you can see on my moniker here.

This is going to be an unpopular post. You may laugh now....but Georgia State will be in the AAC sooner than everyone here may believe. We hit all the following check marks: academics, money, state-of-art facilities, competent AD/President, and a large TV market. We can compete with the AAC in most sports. We're just waiting for our football program to become competitive at the G5 level. Our tangible institutional qualities are comparable to UCF, Houston, Memphis, Cincinnati, South Florida, and etc. Poke fun at our football program now, but things may be very different few decades from now.

AAC is G5...

Also, you have nearby GT and UGA. You may all the "intangibles" but what you have to compete with for fans is going to be an incredibly difficult climb.

yep AAC is still G5 and I should've began with that, but it's our next "leap" (not for just us fans, but also from our administration. It's no secret that they're not content with SunBelt) Of course, we all know it will be a difficult climb for next few decades.

We don't need to win over the current UGA/GT fans. We just need to grow our own fanbase starting with our current and future students (I fear our middle-age and older alumni are already UGA/GT fans). We have 50,000+ students per year. If we can convert even 1/10 of them to bleed blue every year, our fanbase could become respectable in few decades. Remember, we lacked football because every previous GSU administration since our founding in 1913 actively opposed football. Just imagine if we started football in the 60s or 80s.

One day...if you really believe. If you concentrate every fiber of your being on that belief, Let it consume you from the head down, you just might get your wish.

Just remember when you wake up from that dream to let the dog out.

Why doesn't anyone do a cat at the park day?

I mean, if dogs get a day, (And a ticket at Georgia State apparently) why don't cats get their day too?

Ever owned a cat? It would be cats take a human to a football game day.

I would never allow myself to own an animal. Too much work.

Dear 22 year old GA St fan, the big boys don’t give up seats to the P5 table, embrace the scraps that fall to the floor. I enjoy your optimism, it’s good for young alums to have. I was on our athletic scholarship board during the FBS study we had many that believed we were too good for the SBC, one was Charlie Cobb so I’ve heard what you’re saying from the horses mouth of your leadership.
