So when you beat WVU in a statement game...

What statement did you make exactly?

"UCF would beat any of the Big 3 if they ever came to Orlando to play"

That was a long time ago big guy, that’s why I said still.

UCF would have a higher athletics budget if they were in the same conference as USF.

UCF would have higher attendance than USF if they had the conference opponents as USF.

UCF would win a BCS bowl if they were gifted inclusion in a BCS conference like USF was.

The reason USF fans stopped saying UCiF is because they realized we were right and that they sounded like idiots. Now they just say c. I’m not really sure why that’s supposed to be deogatory yet. Maybe a USFer can fill us in.

Even a broken clock's right twice a day, but that wasn't what the claims were. And you're hilariously looking at things through your black and gold glasses.

You have a higher athletic budget because you have the highest student fees going to athletics in the conference.

You aren't forced to release your "actual" attendance, so there's no real apples to apples comparison.

You like to say we were "gifted" BCS inclusion, but it came about because we developed a working relationship with Louisville and Cincinnati in other sports rather than ignore basketball for years and were actually a FOUNDING member of Conference USA rather than decline their invitation to a football invitation because you thought YOU guys were going to be 'gifted' a Big East membership, and when that didn't happen you joined the MAC (and insulted the entire conference before you ever played a game).

You guys earned every bit of that nickname back in the day. I don't think it applies these days, but it's amazing how you all refuse to ever acknowledge any fault of your own and blame USF for every single thing that ever happens to you.

USFFan
that's USF for ya. born on 3rd base and think they hit a triple. nothing was ever given to UCF, they've scratched and clawed for everything they have and that's probably why they value opportunities and actually achieve things.

That's UCF for ya. Trying to use a pithy saying without actually understanding what the saying is, and complicating things without any knowledge of their own history.

I'd hardly say that being a founding member of the Sun Belt Conference in 1976, using that to raise our basketball team enough that we were invited to join the Metro, then using that as the basis for founding Conference USA (accompanied with launching a football program), which we parlayed into Big East membership in any way qualifies as being "born on 3rd base." So your analogy sucks blue whale. But let's examine that football launch again. And for this, I think, in all fairness, we owe UCF some gratitude. You see, you guys did such a bad job at launching your program, spending way more money than you were supposed to, that they seriously almost disbanded your team, and had to delay your planned move to I-AA (http://ucfknights.com/news/2007/6/29/The..._D_II.aspx ). So when we applied to start our own football program, the state insisted that we raise enough cash to make sure we wouldn't have to bailed out the way you guys were. That forced us to demonstrate our plan to move up to I-A as quickly as possible. So thank you guys for being such a failure that you forced us to create the blueprint that so many other schools have now used to start up their own football programs.

Meanwhile your "scratching and clawing" was largely of your own doing. You guys turned down CUSA at the start. You guys buried your basketball program for years. You guys embarrassed yourselves by bigtiming the MAC, only to fail to win anything while there. You guys replaced an AD who was forced out over a cell phone scandal that involved the FBI with a morally bankrupt former bowl chairman who was fired after not only committing NCAA violations but lying about them. So pardon me if I don't celebrate your clawing your way out of the holes you largely dug for yourselves.

We were in line to legitimately play for the national championship. Easily.

We did not follow that game up and tumbled in the rankings, but it was all right there.

Something neither USF or UCF can ever do (probably), playing in the AAC...be in line to play for a NC. Have a legit shot.

That’s exactly what I would expect from a fan of a team with absolutely no hardware in the trophy case. You guys don’t even understand big November games because you’ve never played one. The fact that you think a September game is the biggest in your history is a hilarious indictment on your program and how little you’ve accomplished.

Yet the War on I-4 trophy is housed at the Lee Roy Selmon facility and not at Brokehouse Rustworks "Stadium".

So you’re saying it’s housed next to the unicorn sticker for being ranked #2 in a shed on campus somewhere.

It's a pity that USF has absolutely no other trophies to put it next to.

Not that they're worth bragging about, but...

the part i bolded was in reference to your free big conference class basketball facility (UF's twin). without that you're not able to post about how it was your ingenious work of hanging around with louisville and cincy all those years building relationships that later lead to the big east invite. the free arena is the born on third base and thinking you hit a triple reference. you have some nerve lecturing on how they neglected their b-ball program with the high school gym that no one ever did any favors for.

Honestly this kind of reminds me of the 03 playoffs. I'm a Yankees fan - Yanks and Red Sox had a thrilling ALCS, Aaron Boone hits an extra inning walk off in game 7.... and we got smacked around by the Marlins after that.
