Kiffin Expects to Be at FAU Beyond 2017 Season
"You are not going to get Coach Speak here," Kiffin said. "When I say I'm happy here, that's what every coach says. But I really am. It's a very unique situation: A) we have a great team, B) a ton of them come back, almost the whole team comes back. And we love living here. There's a family element that's awesome. My dad's here. My brother's a coordinator. Mom's here. My brother's four kids. We've got a president that wants football to win, came from Clemson and envisions this place being like Clemson some day."

I hope it happens, but doubt it. Money talks.

FAU cant pay Alabama money but Im sure at reneg time we can pay money similar to what UCF/USF pay and/or lower tier SEC money (2-2.5m) to keep him for a while.

No coach speak? "We have a great team"? I'll admit good but not great.

Yep, LOL. I'll believe it when I see it as far as Kiffin coming back. Arkansas is a very likely place for him next year IMO.

If by great you mean Alabama level, I agree. This is a great CUSA-level team though and at this point of the season about the same level as WKU's great teams the past couple seasons.

Look, he is saying the right things. That is truly the best we can expect. In absence of any other information, we have to accept this at the face value. Is he pulling a Saban (when Saban was negotiating with Alabama at the same time he swore he was staying at the helm of the Miami Dolphins)? I guess we will see.

To be fair, I think Wky of last year rolls them

Who knows... WKU has a historically difficult time with FAU for some reason. Except for the last season, where FAU was very bad.

Yep, our run defense and defense overall last season is way better than FAU.....FAU's defense not there, the offense is close to WKU's last season but our QB and OL was better...Your running game is better even though Wales got on a roll at the end of last season....

Fau is paying him enough to keep him away from lower tier p5 jobs, even if they'll pay more. A million a year to do what you love, in a beautiful area, around your family is a great gig. FAU isn't going to have the same pressures as a p5 school. He can dominate cusa at fau and pull in a million plus for years to come.

Hope it happens. If someone finally treats a C-USA program like a destination, rather than a way station, maybe we could begin to retain some coaching talent.

I doubt any of that happens, but who knows.

WKU was a top 25 caliber team. CUSA needs to have one team every year in top 25.
