God hates Jerry Falwell.

God hates Jerry's son even more than the Original.

God so loved the world that he gave us two Jerry Falwells.

UCF looked better today. Nice to see Tacko Fall back in action.

Temple, SMU, and UConn have plenty of chances to get quality wins. Whether they are good enough to get a couple of them, the verdict is still out.
SMU will probably face Arizona and either Villanova/Purdue in the Atlantis tournament. Opportunity to make a huge statement.

Doubtful that statement is vs Az. They are stacked and should waltz to the final four.

Good grief, SMU, have mercy. The Ponys are stampeding over poor Ark Pine Bluff 32-11 with 5:15 to go in the first half. 04-cheers

Just asking: even with a deeper bench and plenty of talent, why does smu continue to play very slow offense?

They have the talent and personnel to speed it up. Just interesting to see them barely get the ball across half court in 10 seconds with no pressure

Morgan State, which beat South Florida, has lost to WVU 111-48. Mountaineers were up 50-8 at one point.

A couple reasons, but 1) we arent at full strength yet. Akoy Agau hasn't played yet (should make his debut in Atlantis), McMurray isn't eligible until the Mid-December and Isiaha Mike is sitting out this season so right now we are only playing with 8. 2) 4 of those 8 right now are Freshman. Chargois looks really good and Ray is pretty solid too, but I don't think Jank wants to speed up the game even more than it already is for frosh.

Once McMurray and Agau are playing I would expect us to speed it up a bit, but nothing to drastic. We aren't a huge up tempo team.

SMU can and will play fast when needed but the idea is to get the best shot possible, moving the ball until it develops. In no way are they a slow it down type team. The ball moves and the ppg stat is decent. There really isn’t a classic “shoot first” guy on the floor now and that’s what Jank wants. What will be interesting to see is how McMurray impacts that when he is eligible.

Yea. I mean UC has played slowed for years with Troy caupain as point guard. It just looks like the same pace we played the last few years only smu has fast skilled players. They use a ton of shot clock even against lesser opponents which I thought was interesting. They play slow but still play good offense.

As for McMurray, if I were him, I’d just not play this year. Won’t he be a JR this year if he plays ? That would suck that he basically played half a year as a soph, then half a year as a JR. And he’d be losing essentially a whole year of playing time. Is it 100% certain he plays?

You are correct. He would be Junior this season.

I wouldn't say 100%, but 98% certain he plays. It hasn't been publicly announced that he will play so there is always that chance he doesn't, but from everything I have been told and read he will play this season and is chomping at the bit to get out there.

He will be eligible for Boise St so will get to play 20 regular season games. I agree that I don't get why people Mid-year transfer, you waste eligibility just stick it out until the end of the season and then transfer.
