Is Tulsa trying to increase enrollment? They really have a ceiling with their tiny student body. You really have to hope people not affiliated with the school gets involved.

SMU can increase a freshman class 30% and that adds only 300. Not much of a difference.

I believe Tulsa went 9-3 in football last year and was in the tourney 2 years ago. Every school has ups and downs.

RE: Tulsa
We need to get rid of Haith as much as UConn needs to get rid of Ollie. I'd put them in similar categories: guys who can with with other people's talent, but not their own. Haith just doesn't know how to coach defense and his offensive scheme can be figured out pretty quickly, so unless he has some quality talent that can make up for that fact, he doesn't do well. I've been negative on him since we missed the NCAA in his first season. We need to grab a new coach and our AD needs to not be involved in the search. Too bad Haith's contract is the largest we've given any of our coaches and we probably won't be able to buy him out AND afford a new guy.

Monty still has a chance to turn things around. He needs to improve his recruiting on the defensive side and get some new defensive coordinators. Skipper can be a good QB with the correct molding, and we know that Tulsa's offense can be prolific. I expect the team to make a bit of a jump next season. If they can't, I could see Monty being gone.

Not sure, but said winner may actually win an NCAA tourney game.

Cronin to Memphis.
Marshall to Tulsa.
Lebo to UCONN.

Wichita State has a goal of 22,000 students by 2020. Recently we bought a small local technical college adding 4,000 students to our current enrollment of 15,000. Next year we should be sitting right under 20k.

Tulsa will always be podunk because that's the nature of private schools. We have several Tulsa-clones in Wichita in Kansas-Newman and Friends University. Private, podunk schools always get superior ratings because the environment is akin to home schooling.

This is actually good advice. It was the private schools in the MVC that ****** things up for everyone. The conference was 50% private, 50% public and the privates always voted to put the brakes on anything and everything that would improve athletics.

Drake was probably the most prestigious university in the MVC but they were also the worst athletic program in the MVC. It wasn't a coincidence.

I bet adding the technical schools raised your academic profile.

I'm going to laugh when Ollie + Haith + Tubby + Lebo get let go in the same season.

It couldn't hurt it. 03-lmfao

We're gonna use it to funnel students into the main university who want more advanced degrees. It will be an overall win for the city of Wichita.
