The Access Bowl is already going to the American
I'm talking playoffs
I would park UCF behind Notre Dame and Auburn, and both those teams could be 3-loss teams by the time the weekend is over
Penn State, Ohio State, and TCU are LOSERS
Ohio State got destroyed by a sorry Iowa team, why do they constantly get a pass?

That was game of the year, by a landslide. Great day for the American to have a game with that much importance and of that quality on ABC.

I say this begrudgingly because I dislike the "P6" BS, but that game was awesome. Hands down game of the year.

Or Wayne Densch family will throw him more to stay with UCF.
So he can go undefeated and miss the playoffs.
Yep, sounds like a great career path.

The only way for the AAC to actually improve is for individual programs to pay over the odds for winning coaches.
It requires a LOT of sacrifice, but it is actually worth it for most of the teams in the conference.
Wichita State and Gonzaga didn't get to where they are now by letting P5 programs poach whenever they want. Fans noticed, and both schools now have GREAT attendance.

RE: If UCF wins...
Well, I'll say this, both teams have defenses that would fit right in to the Big 12.
I was unimpressed with most of the players, a definite drop off in talent (especially in the O and D lines) from a typical P12, B1G or SEC game. That said a few are Sunday players, just not near as many. Also typical Charlie Strong team that made just enough undisciplined mistakes to lose.
I give UCF the edge, as I always give G5 teams in the NY6 consolation Bowl. The P5 team playing in the 6th game doesn't want to be there, passed over for a top ten placing. Coaches always say the right things, but their squads are never motivated. Of course this edge changes if Frost is hired by a P5 school before January 1st.

The key for AAC teams is to get to where they pay enough that they only lose their coaches to top P5 jobs. Losing Herman to Texas for example just is what it is, can't blame him for taking that. If UCF losing Frost to Florida it will suck but that's another elite job. Losing great coaches to the mid to bottom of the P5 is what the schools have to do their best to prevent.

Basketball is a different animal: 68 team playoffs with auto-births, 13 scholarships, etc. Football is a lot harder to continue success. I’m not saying it’s fair, but it will be near impossible for UCF to keep him. Now, if they were in the Big XII that would be a different story. Playing Texas, Oklahoma, OK State, WVU, year in and year out would help.
UCF, USF, and Houston will have the money to pay coaches well, they are just behind established programs in their region that won’t allow their admission into the elite conferences. As far as other sleeping giants go, Liberty will be a top 25 program in five years.
Independence may be the name of the game in the future. National schedules and technology to broadcast your own games across the globe.

UCF is undefeated and wins the eye test IMO over TCU
TCU does NOT look impressive...they struggled with 1-10 Baylor some today.
I think UCF could jump a few teams...they definitely deserve to be part of the conversation IMO

RE: If UCF wins...
UCF needs:
- A convincing win over Memphis
- Clemson to lose to SC, then squeak by Miami (no ACC champ)
- Stanford beats ND, then wins Pac 12 (no PAC 12)
- Alabama beas auburn and UGA convincingly (one SEC team)
- Oklahoma beats TCU
- Wisconsin beats Ohio st
Still run the risk of a 2 loss ACC champ clemson getting in but that’s be a tough argument to make with a bad Syracuse loss and Miami (fresh off a loss to a bad Pitt) being the only signature win. But this is the only real way I see UCF sneaking in
