Again wow.

I think give the WAC time and being considerate to a conference that gave them a home when they were in the wilderness of independence. There really isn't a big rush to move.

Wow. I totally did not see this coming.

Clarity you were right and I was wrong. I really thought the WAC had a solid 7-school base to grow from with CSUB, CBU, Seattle, UVU, GCU, NMSU and UTRGV, and hence could afford to part ways with UMKC and CSU. Not so as it turns out. Losing a far west member is more damaging to the conference than losing the eastern outliers since it will discourage D-2 move-ups in the western footprint.

Not if Azusa Pacific wants to join there rival now. They may accept if invited.

I'd say UTRGV before those two.

Understand. But I feel we (along with many other schools) have built the WAC into something that I'm proud of now.

The WAC differentiated CSB. You know how hard it is going to be to get to the regionals in the BW? The early access to the NCAA in hoops and baseball was an opportunity afforded by the turbulent WAC. Now you’re in the same scrum as the other public ca schools.

I hate it. I get it, but I hate it.

As a BW fan I also don’t like it. Hate big 1 bid leagues.

The WAC is a 1 bid league now and always will be if it even exists which I don't think it will.

I believe Gaucho is suggesting to the BW.

But....perhaps to SLC.

I HATE to think that this destabilized the WAC (to WHAT extent its stability, is debatable ....and has already been mentioned)

The Big West might look to add an even 12th member before that as well. New Mexico State come join us!

I think next is UMKC to the Summit.

GCU and NMSU are on the phone with the Horizon and MVC as we speak, probably also the Big Sky.

Hurd's contract runs through June 30th, 2019? Does he just retire?

I still think a Big Sky split is coming. Sac State seems the most likely refugee to head the Big West way.

On the Big West board they are saying that Humbolt has ended their football program. Potential WAC target as discussed? I still say go for Simon Fraser.

http://theprovince.com/sports/university...ey-program

See this article, but it would take a change in NCAA rules.

Years back, Simon Frasier's case was discussed, which board i cant recall (maybe the old Scout board) Apparently, IIRac, Canadian schools must be added to DII conferences.

Can't be them. 6-5 split. Most likely Portland State or NAU instead.

RE: CSUB Moving to the Big West in 2020
I think realistically Seattle and Utah Valley are left without a home. One might get a Big Sky invite but I think that’s unlikely. The WCC has rejected Seattle like four times. Possibly the Summit for both? Bad situation for those two.
