Of course, Old Miss fans tend to judge these things on results rather than strategy. Tuberville used to do this and he was praised by those fickle fans as the Riverboat Gambler. Then Hughie tried similar stuff and it backfired, and he was ridiculed as Ho-loving Hughie. Now that I think about it, Hughie's name had less to do with taking risks on the field and more to do with taking risks off the field.

He knew they were gonna score anyway. I like that about Norvell. We’ve had conservative coaches for 40 plus years. My issue with him is why not use a timeout in the last ten seconds of regulation? It was a head scratcher to me.

First off ... freedom includes the freedom to be a moron. There are Alabama fans who will rip on Saban even though he wins and an unfathomable clip. You can ban those people if you want but you will not have an intellectual leg to stand on if they were presenting their (terrible/woeful/ignorant) opinions earnestly. If btiger is some serial troll then by all means PM me evidence. But so far I find the insults of him more actionable than his original post. If he really is a troll ... DON'T RESPOND TO HIM. When you react you feed the beast. If btiger says some incredibly stupid thing (and having watched the AAC title game I can see this was an incredibly stupid criticism) then just let his stupidity marinate in glorious silence.

Now that this thread has been moved to Smack there is no further action I'll be taking. But as usual, if you don't like something:
1) Give it silence
2) Report post
3) Accept that I will not remove or ban someone simply for being stupid unless it is a serial attempt at stoking unhappiness. Which is the exact opposite of stupid. That's intelligent malice masquerading as stupidity. And it takes a special kind of bitter and resentful soul to hop in to the deep end of that cesspool.
