I did see that..Do you know how that game got set up? That's great to get them to come to Kent State.

It’s not really clear. They offered KSU a home-and-home with KSU playing out there last year. It’s not like they wanted to pick up another road game while they were in a swing through the Midwest: this is their ONLY true non-conference road game this season (they had a couple neutral site games in a tourney). Why they wanted to fly to Ohio from Corvallis for one game is a mystery. It can’t possibly be that it’s a fair thing to do. That would uncharacteristic of a power conference program.

Well, gee, I guess we should all strive to be more like that beacon known as Buffalo! 03-lmfao 03-shhhh

Oh, and good luck tonight...you're going to need it! LOL

Why play Jackson St and Prairie View when you could be playing Jacksonville St., Delaware, and Central Penn?

NCAA has us with the 21st toughest schedule in the country and 50th in the RPi. I think we know how to schedule.

RE: MAC Basketball 12/11-12/17
Schedules are always a bit of a crapshoot. One year Kent scheduled 7 or 8 NCAA teams from the previous year, but they wound up being really mediocre the next season. Looks like UB overscheduled somewhat—if you don’t ever beat any of the better teams on the schedule and only beat the weak teams, what have you gained? But I agree it’s good to at least take a shot at the brass ring even if it doesn’t produce any quality wins. At least you tried which is more than some schools can say.

I agree that arguing about scheduling is extremely dumb but can we at least not be intellectually dishonest and equate middling D1 teams and bad ones?

My point was not to imply that the relative rankings of the teams were similar, because that’s not the point you were making. It’s that in terms of interest to MAC fans, all those teams are about equally uninteresting.

By the way, in the broadcast tonight, they noted that this is actually the middle of a 3 game series with OSU. The Flashes will play in Corvallis again next year.

Kansas and Syracuse not up to Buffalo’s standards? Congrats to Kent for getting a P5 home game. Last I recall for Toledo was Alabama during the Cross minute.

RE: MAC Basketball 12/11-12/17
Very entertaining game in the first half for Buffalo and TA&M. Fun to watch. UB has 27 of their points from 3 and no points in the paint while the Aggies have 26 points in the paint.

The Flashes knock off the Beavers, but what a crazy end of the game. One of OSU’s guards hit FOUR 3-pointers in the last 30 sec but the Flashes made their free throws to hold on. Announcers noted this was Senderoff’s 4th win over a P5 school.

Buffalo hanging in. They caught a break when A&M’s leading scorer was suspended for 3 games today. They are getting killed inside, but they keep firing 3’s enough to stay within single digits.

Bulls fall 89-73 at #8 Texas A&M.. It was closer if not for late free throws. UB just had no answer for the size of Texas A&M inside.. THats why they are a top 10 team.

RE: MAC Basketball 12/11-12/17
Looking at the MAC with out-of-conference opponents, in the SAGARIN ratings:

Ball State over Notre Dame is the best OOC win; Ohio over Western Kentucky and UB over UAB are both wins over top-100 teams.

We're really cleaning up against winless teams - with Howard, YSU, Norfolk State, Florida A&M, Coppin State, MVSU, Alabama A&M, and Chicago State, the MAC has 9 wins over winless teams. Maybe some tougher scheduling would help the conference?
