Who knows? After his sons nearly ran the team into the ground he made the decision he doesn't want the team to be taken over by them when he dies. His will says the team must be sold within 2 years of his death, maybe his health is in decline, plus the allegations could damage the value of the team if he remains in the ownership group.

there is only one son now. The other died of cancer 4ish years ago.

Rumor is Kaepernick and PDiddy are looking to buy into the Panthers. I really can't see the NFL ownership voting in Kaepernick after all the money he has cost them this season.

Not really a debate. He started a movement that led to a decrease in viewers and attendance. I'm not debating the right or wrong of it, but it did cost the NFL money this year.

Turns out I misread the the rumor anyway. PDiddy interested, but says he'll sign Kaepernick as QB. How do Carolina fans feels about that?

I’m told Eddie DeBartolo definitely is exploring the possibility of putting together a group to purchase the Panthers. He will have competition if he goes forward.

PDiddy stated on his twitter he wanted to own the Panthers.

I can't see Richardson's share being sold piecemeal I would think the league owners would want someone to have controlling interest. Yeah same article put diddy's worth at about 800M. I told the wife that won't touch an NFL franchise. Even if it was liquid and was enough, you have to have some free cash available to make ends meet when thing saren't going well.

I heard Grady Davis was interested in buying the team.

Jerry Richardson and George Halas are the only 2 former players to own a team... and the NFL seems to hold that in high esteem. Don't be surprised if Peyton Manning's name begins to surface.
