Two unanswered TDs by Navy and they now lead UVA 14-7.

...and just like that it's now 28-7 Navy.
Sad. Very sad.

So far Navy has yet to attempt a single pass.
266 yards on 38 rushing attempts = 7 yards per attempt.
I probably wouldn't call a pass play either!

RE: THU 12/28/17 Bowl Thread
Good news: UVA is now holding Navy to 3.7 yds/carry in the 2nd half
Bad news: the score is now 35-7 Navy over UVA

(I am SO embarrassed!)

I picked Navy, but should have allotted them more confidence points. This is a mediocre Navy team, losers of 6 of 7, and they lost their final 3 games while only averaging 15 points a game.

I still picked them because UVA is still UVA. They fooled people into thinking they were maybe back to respectability with their 5-1 start, but only the Boise win was worth anything. This Cavs offense has been held scoreless for more than 8 quarters and counting at this point.

RE: THU 12/28/17 Bowl Thread
I'm casually following the game via Gametracker. Did UVA just punt under these circumstances?

Down 35-7 late in the middle of the 3rd quarter, facing 4th and 18 at the Navy 32?

Yeah it's 4th and 18, but you punt from the opponent's 32 rather than go for it or attempt a 49 yard FG? Time for Bronco to waive the white flag and warm up the bus back to Charlottesville. No use finishing this one out.

And to think that we at Duke were embarrassed to have lost a close game at Army -- which beat Navy this year.

Option teams are supposed to have the advantage of novelty during the regular season since their opponents only have a week to prepare for a completely different type of offense. This advantage is supposed to mostly go away for bowl games since the opponent has much more time to prepare. I guess no one told U.Va they were supposed to prepare any differently.

Not only that, but the Cavs play Georgia Tech every year, so it's not like this is something unusual for them. They're just getting an old fashioned butt-whuppin' today, I'm afraid.

I thought it interesting that one of the commentators mentioned the size of Navy's linemen. No longer are they at a major weight disadvantage against the opposition. That just makes their run game that much harder to stop - they can run straight at you as well as use misdirection. Who needs the pass?

This leaves me sad that we lost to UVA without a defense at all. Seriously one stop and we win that game and are in the postseason instead.

Too bad Navy attempted their first pass late in the 3rd quarter. It would have been notable to say that UVA was demolished without Navy even trying to throw the ball a single time.

Did UVA forget to practice for this game? Geeze they've looked horrible today.

I'm trying to think of a worse bowl performance by an ACC school and drawing a blank. Great work, U.Va.

VT dominates the first half and still finds a way to trail.

RE: THU 12/28/17 Bowl Thread
The Hokies MUST do better than 52 yards passing in the 2nd half; rushing was good, not great.
Also can't lose the turnover battle and win the game (currently 1-0 in favor of OK St)

2nd half, already 20-7 OK St. Hokies have dug themselves a hole...

Bud Foster is going to start looking around again. Fuente was supposed to fix the offense.

Evidently VT forgot to do any conditioning, despite knowing for a month they were playing an up-tempo team.
