Nah, the ACC should hold out for Penn State and Auburn!

ND is never joining the ACC.

That said, the committee will always change the rules to suit the SEC (especially Bama) team. So the belief that you can emulate Bama here and 'have a weak schedule' (which the did this year, but not intentionally) .....doesn't matter. The committee looks at SEC differently. It is a rigged system.

Amazing how intelligent CFB coaches don't understand what is happening around them. The system is rigged, ESPN is playing the strings to benefit SEC and their bottom line.

How does everyone not see this? If ND thinks this is about catching this moving target, they aren't near as intelligent as they claim.

The CCG is still an important data point. If Clemson loses the ACC, they don't get in. The loser of the SEC doesn't get in. If Oklahoma loses the B12, they don't get in. If Wisconsin wins the B1G, they do get in.

I don't see where Kelly is going with this. This years schedule is about as favorable as it gets. Here is the generic version:

Should win
Georgia (lost)
Should win
Michigan State
Should win
Should win
Off
USC
Should win
Should win
Miami (FL) (lost)
Should win
Stanford (lost)

I think his point is they played Georgia (loss) and Stanford (loss). Replace those 2 games with G5 cupcakes and would Notre Dame have a shot at 11-1? Maybe. He'd still have the ranked wins over Michigan St and USC, which would've been better than what Bama had...

That’s the thing and it’s a great point! Unless Jack is getting ready to pass out some more envelopes at multiple Halftimes next season, ND’s schedule isn’t getting any easier for the next 5-6 years.

IMO the thirteenth data point is very important, but not as important as avoiding the second loss, especially if your two losses are by a combined 46 points. Had Ohio State avoided one of two double digit losses they would have been in the CFP and Bama would have likely been in the Orange Bowl.

To be fair, first the Irish have to avoid the THIRD loss before they can work on avoiding the second...

You know him better than us. Probably just trying to say Noter Dame and Playoff in the same sentence for the fan base. Kinda a Lou Holts in reverse.
