I wouldn't count us. Only downhill from here.

Always resume dropping. As the conference starting RPIs show...the AAC is better this year with or without WSU.

You’re close enuf. I still think UConn can be Top 100. They have enuf talent. Time will tell.

I didn’t really want to make a new topic for this but the commentators are giving a lot of credit to Tubby Smith for recruiting a couple pieces to this great Texas Tech squad that’s pushing Flagship to the final whistle.

Wichita, Cincinnati and SMU.

Bubble team
Houston

UCF is a darn solid NIT team. The rest of the league is hot garbage this year and ECU and USF should drop basketball.

I would agree with this, but I think I would include UCF as a bubble team and maybe even Temple. It would be nice to squeeze out 4 or 5 bids.

almost all juco...no one ever denied tubby could win..the doubt is to the level memphis fans want (regular top 15)

tubby would be a great coach for most of the AAC. But not the uconn and memphis of the league...

4 years ago memphis was doing top 3 national recruiting classes doing 18k attendance ...tubby can't sustain

his isnt a jab on tubby..tuby and sampson are borderline identical coaches (they are actually extremely close friends)
but memphis shouldn't be scavenging for jucos like houston was with their recent success

This is only Tubby's 2nd year right?

If so it seems likely that he would be given a couple more years to get things moving in the right direction.

3 guaranteed. I think they'll end up with 4. 5 means some unexpected upsets happen in conference but it's possible.

Lunardi, who I certainly take with a grain of salt, released his latest Bracketology this morning. He has Wichita State as a 3, UC as a 6, SMU as a 9, and........Tulsa as a 12. Houston is one of the First Four out. No offense to Tulsa - truly - but I wonder if that could be a typo? I haven't seen anything else that points to Tulsa as an at-large candidate.

He always gives the auto-bid to the current first place team in every conference. That's why their name is capitalized.

Got it. Thank you. Seems an odd way to go about it.

Agreed. Their realistic range is 3-5 bids, with 4 probably being the most likely.

I've been sticking with 3 all year. After this shocker beat down of Houston I'm sticking to it. Coogs don't look like a tournament team.

What can I say... I'm clearly overcompensating for UCONN's suckiness. I'm not about free-loading on others.
