239 isn’t good. But so far Doc has had 2 years below 300 and another that was around 290 in KenPom if memore serves correctly. So 239 represents a big improvement.

#224 in KenPom now, which I consider more accurate than Sagarin. Takes into account tempo, pace, efficiency, etc.

agree.....sagarin is so 80's....

regardless, I'm simply going to enjoy the rest of the season.....it's most definitely going to be a seesaw battle to .500.....these guy are fun to watch when they're clicking.....

everybody we play moving forward is going to jack it from the outside.....that was a gimme right out of the gate....

lately, we've gotten better forcing misses from the perimeter....our 8 main mins/game guys are gonna be a whooped arse by the end of the year....

It's terrible down here in South Florida; I miss all the good gay bars that BDR hangs out in up there in H'burg.

Maybe I'll get up there for an Ole Miss/Memphis game sometime and find me a queen...

It's improvement, but not what I'd call a big improvement. 100 and below is super easy to move around in, especially this early in the season. One loss could shoot us to bottom 200s quick.

RE: Golden Giants Lead UTSA 40-29 at Half....
From my experience with kenpom, usually I try to look at it in groups of 50, until the top 100. 300 and below are dreadful teams. 250-300 all suck but have a pulse and can give decent teams a game if they play well occasionally. 200-250 are below average teams that finish in the bottom part of the middle of the pack in 1 bid leagues. That’s an oversimplification obviously. But IMO being where we are is significant improvement. The 300 range, where we were, consists of absolutely dreadful teams that have very few positives. The 225 range is more like below average to bad. But those teams can generally give some decent teams (100-150) range a good game and beat them if they have home court advantage.

I get what you’re saying, jumping to the 230 range is nothing at all to write home about or even close. But it gets you out of the “dreadful” tier that we were in for 3 years.

this is the third time Doc has won back to back games against teams from a the P5 or G5 conference (yes, football terms i know) in his USM career. all three times, it was against the UTEP/UTSA combo. so lets not go jerking yourselves off to death just yet.
