RE: New Media deal for 2018 and beyond?
Our contracts with ESPN, CBS Sports Network, and Stadium expire this spring, but our contract with beIN Sports doesn't expire until the spring of 2019. So we'll still have 10 televised games on their network - at least for next year.

Tons of people are cutting traditional TV out of their lives. If we are the only live sports on Netflix/YouTube then we get those views.

On the other side, the most money can probably be made by selling our souls to the also ran networks that no one gets or watches (BeIn, Regional Networks, CBS College Sports, FS2, etc.)

I don't have a problem with any provider who lets us start our games when we want. I'd like to see something like Netflix/YouTube work for us. Youtube carried a Rice football game last season and they did an incredible job. They were professional and unbiased.

Or was it Facebook? I

What kind of coffee mugs? If they get Yeti's then that is one sweet deal.

RE: New Media deal for 2018 and beyond?
Another possible option—

> ESPN PLUS: Small-to-medium college conferences have looked into shopping their rights to digital companies such as Facebook and YouTube to get more control over their start times. But ESPN is making a play to keep those conferences in the fold, as its planned direct-to-consumer product, ESPN Plus, will have a heavy college presence, especially for schools outside of the power five, according to Burke Magnus, ESPN’s executive vice president, programming and scheduling.

ESPN’s interest in those rights could provide FBS conferences such as the Sun Belt and Conference USA, as well as others outside the FBS, greater value.

“We’re going to drill down as far as possible into the inventory from conferences big and small,” Magnus said. “There’s a real opportunity there over time.”

Almost all of the live inventory among the power five is spoken for, given the rights deals and conference-branded channels that currently exist. But four of the five leagues outside of the power five — Conference USA, Sun Belt, Mountain West and American Athletic — will start negotiating new rights agreements over the next two to three years. Conference USA is in the market now with a partial package of games.

Magnus expects ESPN Plus to become a digital home for some of those rights. ESPN also could offer space on its linear channels to some of those conferences’ bigger games, since the network lost half of the Big Ten package to Fox.

“There’s a lot of content, not from the [power five], but from other conferences,” Magnus said. “There’s a lot of college content that could be produced, packaged and presented in a much better way. Most of it is not aggregated and not branded. Our approach will be to take as much of it from individual conferences, get all of their content, every varsity sporting event is produced, and present it in a digital network format.

“Conferences still crave the reach on over-the-air or widely distributed channels, but the flip side is that they crave a comprehensive offering for fans and families.”

Forgot about that, still sucks, Rather have games on TV where I can record or pause while I put the kids to bed vs. streaming where my experiences has not been great....last streamed game I Saw about 5 min. of was horrible...Now if game is streamed on Facebook and Twitter I have hardly any issues...

I was listening to PAPN on my commute into work this morning and Godfrey said he knows for a fact that the CBS Sports contract is still going with CUSA and they flexed us into Thursday and Friday nights. The topic got brought up because our schedules were released and everything looked to be contained to Saturdays. You can listen to it around the 11 minute mark. He is always careful what information he releases and a very reliable source, in my opinion.

They also talk more about CUSA this episode as well, if you wanted to give it a listen in its entirety.

I really enjoyed the Stadium Facebook broadcast vs. UTSA last night......... HD, never had a stoppage. I like Ron Thulin, and even the sideline reporter was very good.

I was sick with the flu and could not make it to the game.

They showed hilites on the local Nashville sports at 10pm, and also showed Belmont (who was on ESPN3). Our footage was much, much better than Belmont's ESPN3.

I believe the latest offer is that we can be shown on those little gas pump screens at select Shell stations and in return Judy would get 5 cents off per gallon in the month of February.
