This is why Aresco isn't pushing for an 8 team playoff with a g5 auto-bid. Every single year we have to start over from scratch. We'll never get our proper respect in the preseason polls. He's zeroed in on the right thing which is to get us a contract bowl and a decent contract, which would eliminate the bias of us just being the "lucky" g5 each year

Yea, but I'm just confused how Boise moves up slots over the off season and UCF drops so far........ I know this poll is just one person's opinion, but it makes no sense.

Every preseason poll has us in the 20's.

Vegas showed UCF some love and set them up as 200-1 odds to win it all.

Boise State needs to get in this conference and end this charade...

I think a lot of lazy pollsters simply think of the MWC as the West coast version of the AAC without really putting in any analysis on conference depth. On a subliminal level I think this is also their way of self assuring themselves that the AAC is just another g5

I'm actually stoked about having 3 ranked teams. Next season is set up to be our best. The 3 ranked teams are all bringing back a lot along with great recruits coming online. Houston with their new OC and Navy getting their QB situation together with Temple finally putting it together by the end of the year. I think the AAC can come out of the gate next season on fire. With our raised conference profile we could start some serious discussions about our place among the other conferences, not to mention it'll be contract time. This season is really setting us up to accomplish our p6 goals for the future

This has gotta piss off the other teams in the MWC. No love for Fresno and SDSU? Just Boise, Boise, Boise.

Given that the cartel created the system to prevent any team outside the cartel from even having the opportunity to play for a championship, regardless of what they do on the field, Vegas gets some nice free money out of those kind of odds. UCF and any other G5 team could be the best team in College Football History and wouldn't sniff the playoff.

It’s an ESPN poll and y’all are in their dog house, if UCF goes undefeated again ESPN and their committee will not even recognize you as having a football team

200-1 odds are real short odds for a team with no chance of even sniffing the playoffs. leicester city in the premier league a few years ago had 5000-1 odds and they won because titles are based on results, not opinion.

The #1 offense in the nation returns 9 starters, most of whom were sophomores and Freshman this year, gets 2 huge impact transfers, and yet people act like we'll have no idea how to score next year after bringing in the OC of the #1 SEC offense.

Whatever. Let them throw around these absurd polls.

We just can't knock each other off and let Boise get the NY6 bowl game. Ideally we can get four 10 win teams. That means Navy and Temple have to go 6-6ish, Tulane, SMU, ECU, UConn, Tulsa and Cincinnati need to suck bad.

I'm guessing you don't realize how this works with the established elite?

Besides, you never know what tomorrow will hold. After all, the last time UCF won a major bowl, they went on to lose 23 games the next three seasons and honestly should have lost more with as many lucky escapes as they had in 2014 (they definitely pulled a rabbit out of their hat against ECU and Houston). They should have been no better than 6-6 in 2014

So let's just wait and see next year.

I am not mad. Boise has 10 starters on Defense returning, and 9 on Offense. They will be good.

Fresno has a lot returning, but considering they were 1-11 in 2016, it is hard to to understand what just happened in 2017.

I think SDSU is a Top 25 team next year. We have a chance to prove it playing Stanford on the road on September 1st. Even with a loss, going 3-1 OOC would set us up nicely, and another win over ASU would be satisfying. We'll see.
