They lose to the 7th place Big 12 team at home in their own bowl. And their best win was 3 point win at home over a 6-7 UCLA team.

P6 bias it seems

That's "assuming" UCF picks up with the new staff where they left off with the previous staff. Considering the FAU-UCF matchup is several games into the season it "should" give both teams (moreso UCF than FAU) time to work out any early season kinks.

Am I crazy, or didn't FAU just lose their entire offensive brains to Houston?

We return 9 of 11 starters on offense and just took in a 5 star Ole Miss transfer that will play right away. Our coach runs a similar system and had the #1 SEC offense this year.

We're going to score points. Tons and tons of them.
No. The basic's of the O was Kendal, but I have heard Lane put more input in as the year went on.
I just love how you lose the entire staff yet with your replacement you will be fine (Heard this from WKU fans all last year) yet we lose one coach and we are doomed.

We also return 17 starters and will have an elite 11 QB available to play this year.
FAU only graduated like 17-18 players total. Should be a fun game

You heard no such thing from Western fans. Most of us did not have a clue about what this new coach would do or what he would run......

we did not expect the AD to go out and fine a coach that was going in a 180 different direction on offense and defense. But once that happened I don't know of any Western fan expecting over 8 wins....with a dumb*** coach Western still should have reached that

Thank you for providing context to what I assumed was a totally bogus comment from fau fan.

Sounds similar to what USF did. Had a high flying offense yet hired Charlie Strong who is defensive minded.

UCF on the other hand clearly did not do a 180. They hired one of the brightest young offensive coaches in the country, brought along his key OLine coach from Missouri, and wanted to keep things moving forward with offensive approach and culture.

UCF was undefeated which is impressive but...

UCF had a #72 SOS and was 1-0 versus top 30 teams while Penn State was 4-2 and Wisconsin was 4-1. UCF was lucky to be ranked ahead of them and was basically a bone thrown to the G5.

You are now completely lying and inventing things.

1-0 against the Top 30? Are you even trying?

We beat Memphis - twice. They were, and are, a Top 25 team. We beat USF- a Top 25 team. At the time when we beat Navy they were still receiving votes, so within the Top 30.

Throw in Auburn and that is 5-0 vs Top 30 teams. If you want to remove Navy then fine, we were 4-0 against Top 25 teams.

I know you're threatened by UCF's success for some reason but you can't simply invent things and present them as facts.

UCF 1-0 versus Top 30 click on the link Sagarin. Nice win against a good Auburn team but how would UCF stack up playing 6 Top 30 teams as Penn State played.

UCF had an incredibly weak schedule to even be considered unlike Boise who had beaten top 10 Oregon and VT on the road

Ok, bud. It's very clear that you're doing mental gymnastics to discredit the fact that the AAC has 2 other teams that were in the Top 25 most all year and finished the year there. Afterall, who better to rag on other's schedules than a CUSA fan?

Good luck.

Not ragging at all, I'm just being rational with no dog in this discussion.

To UCF credit if they go undefeated next year and beat UNC and Pittsburgh in 2018 that should at least put UCF in the discussion for the 4 playoff spots.

No UCF supporter here, but I'm sick of hearing "IF UCF played in the *****place your power 5 conference here*****they would not go undefeated." No SH!T?

Here's the deal---IF/IF/IF UCF played in a power 5 conference, they would then have all the advantages, monies and prestige associated with a P5 Conference, therefore, they should be even better---THAT would be an apples to apples comparison, instead of this dumbazzz apples to Kumquats comparison.

There are plenty of NCAA basketball and baseball teams not in a P5 conference that compete quite well on the national level, and folks don't say in every breath "IF Wichita State or Rice played in the *****place your power 5 conference here*****they wouldn't be contenders".

Just my take, for what it is worth...04-cheers

RE: Final AP Poll released; no FAU
That is not even remotely the argument. It has nothing to do with a G5 playing a P5 conference schedule but all to do with the Out of conference portion.

Boise is the G5 example for a pathway to the playoff. Undefeated season and multiple ranked P5 wins.

UCF had zero Top 30 wins (before the bowls) according to Sagarin. That is not going to move the pollsters to include a G5 team even a undefeated team such as UCF

Not sure what "argument" you are talking about....It is simply my take on the UCF situation...It wasn't a specific reply to any certain poster.

Sheesh...It's only about the GAME of football....not something really important such as N. Korea, or who's controlling the "nukkular" button...so argue with someone else if ya wanna argue, my friend!04-cheers

When people use Sagarin instead of AP, Coaches, or CFP, it tells me they are desperately grasping for a point that doesn’t exist.

It’s just your sad way to get around admitting that UCF was 4-0 in Top 25 games this year

USF was ranked EVERY single week of the year in the AP and coaches poll, including when we played UCF. If you are referring to the committee's ranking, then you are correct, the committee did not rank them prior to playing UCF.

Fast fact: USF has been ranked in 20 straight AP polls going back to last year.

LOL of the day: UCF ranking is somehow a "bone thrown to CUSA/G5". LOL, had nothing to do with CUSA or the G4, was strictly about the AAC and UCF.

2nd fast fact of the day: Over the past 5 years, 9 AAC teams have finished the year ranked (3 of them in the Top 10), over the same time period the entire G4, 4 whole conferences, have had 6 teams finish the year ranked (with 0 finishing in the Top 10). In other words the AAC alone has finished with way more teams ranked than 4 other conferences combined.

Wouldn’t it suck for you if a computer model that the NCAA recognizes to crown champions just stated UCF at #1?

Can you point me to any ranked CUSA teams?
