All Four NFL Playoff Games See Double-Digit Ratings Decrease
Goodell says no worry, I got my money.
Quote:The NFL had a disastrous weekend when it came to ratings. Numbers have been down all season and it was more of the same for the wild-card games. The biggest surprise was that the best game (Panthers-Falcons) had the biggest decrease year over year. Yes, markets were a big factor, but that was a competitive and entertaining game. Here’s the breakdown:
Titans-Chiefs (14.7) was down 11 percent versus last year’s Raiders-Texans game.
Falcons-Rams (14.9) was down 10 percent versus last year’s Lions-Seahawks game.
Bills-Jaguars (17.2) was down 10 percent versus last year’s Dolphins-Steelers game.
Panthers-Saints (20.4) was down 21 percent versus last year’s Giants-Packers game.

Wow. I had no idea Kappy had so much power. Perhaps he should run with Oprah as VP.

If some dudes kneeling before a game causes you to ban football, you were never a real football fan.

If that's the NFL's marketing strategy (we'll appeal to only "real" football fans), they are DOA.

I'm sure that the decline is because of the Presidential election......I mean the hurricanes.......I mean cord cutters (despite all these games being on OTA channels).....

If pro football supports libturds over country and thugs who beat women, then you are right, I guess I was never a fan of pro football. Probably explains why I have not watched a single game this year.

RE: All Four NFL Playoff Games See Double-Digit Ratings Decrease
As we've discussed before, while the kneeling kerfuffle certainly decreased attendance and viewership, it's far from the only reason the NFL is in decline.
Again, some of the other reasons...
CTE
Deflategate
Ray Rice Fiasco
Other abuse issues with players
Instant Replay
Horrible officiating
Injuries galore
Thursday night games
England games
What the hell is a catch?
Boring games
Charging the military to honor them
And the list goes on...

looking at the demographics, they biggest decrease was whites 18-34. You would think the protests would make the 45+ white demo decrease a good bit more. Latinos were unchanged, Asians actually increased and the blacks went down a little.
