RE: NU to announce new AD
It sounds like the people at Oakland really like him. I'm looking forward to something new.
As much as I felt Roby left on the table, and as much as I felt like he could've produced more success here, there are two things about him we should remember:
-He worked for Joseph Aoun. Hard to do your job when athletics isn't a big priority.
-He did what he thought was right. He put the students ahead of athletics (and rightfully so). He also put his vision of "the greater good" ahead of athletic success. This a lot of people have issue with, especially the way he handled Greg Cronin, but there is is something admirable about it.
At the end of the day though, Roby had a lot to work on in terms of building relationships, particularly with the fans that went sour.
Overall, I think NU has a lot of potential that the new AD can unlock that Roby was unable to. I think my first hope is for marketing to improve. I also am looking for the fans to get more involved than ever. Attendance is down here, and I'd like to see some more in the audience. I'm excited to see what Konya can do.

RE: NU to announce new AD
Here is the presser that was on Facebook Live ...

The best thing he said was that he attended the woman’s hockey game vs UConn.
First thing he said was there was a lot that could be done. Better and more exciting pregame presentation and the attendance.
Now, anyone associated with NU athletics knows NU Women’s hockey games have really poor attendance.
Hope to meet him next time I’m in Boston and I look forward to see what he implements and changes for game day experience.

How many teams get good attendance for Women's Hockey?

None in Hockey East. I could see some of the midwest schools having better attendance, but I'm not sure.
I agree with wiz in that we could make women's hockey games fill up and be fun. Why not? Don't let other schools lack of women's attendance dampen our efforts.
