Only thing I can think of that even merits them considering him is that I’m sure he’s a much more known commodity out west from his time at Boise and Stanford and the fact he’s a Cali Kid. I’m sure he’s dumped this season at the feet of Brohm and those dumbasses like a very few of our fans and our AD have bought it.

As I said earlier...he must be one hella interview. Nothing else explains it. And I honestly doubt he has a legit shot but stranger things have happened.

My hope is they eventually hit the end of their rope. Everyone else has pulled out, Sumlin wants too much. He would probably go for less the 2 million, which is pretty darn cheap for a P5 program.

I can tell you Todd Stewart didn't buy anything. Anyone who has talked with him lately knows he was not happy whatsoever with the results this season. But what can he do at this point after just 1 season. You can't fire a coach that quickly or you lose credibility with other head coaches down the road. We can't afford to pay any type of buy out on his contract either.

So really Todd has two options...

1.) Put on a front and talk about looking to the future and trying to accentuate the positives currently, even though those are few and far in between.

2.) Hope things do get turned around and he gets hired elsewhere soon.

Todd was due for a bad hire at some point. He had been on a perfect run...but no one is perfect.

To hire a coach to rebuild a two time defending champ and coming off 23 wins over two seasons. Goes a lot farther than just a 'bad hire'. It was a bad lack of judgment.

The only time you hire a coach that tells you I'm going in a 180 degree different direction in all parts. Is to rebuild after losing

Agree. Sanford must have come in laying out how Bama and Clemson and Georgia and Ohio State all have dual threat quarterbacks and to win big you have to have that. Todd bought it. Thought Brohm took us as high as a high octane offense could. Go with a dual threat qb and use a power running game to eat clock. More conservative chance at winning. Todd bought it.

As to Rojo’s question of what Todd can do? He can call him in there and tell him of course he’s going to support him but his assss better get right and get right quick. Todd is his freaking boss. Todd should set his skinny suit wearing assss down and go over every position group and every coordinator and hammer every one of them that regressed this year. Ask skinny suit how he is going to improve those areas and which ones of his guys is going to let go for failure to perform.

I can’t remember ever having a boss that didn’t let me know immediately if he thought my performance needed improvement. They are the damn boss.

I understand supporting your hire and saying it public. But Todd took it a few steps more than that so it doesn't jive with what Rojogrande said.

It's one thing to give your coach public support but it's another thing when you go out and try to justify ****** coaching by comparing it to coaches at different points in time. It's almost like Todd dumping on fans that he should be able to see, hear, read, to know they are pissed off.

Then come out and say Willie struggled early on. BP struggled early in the season and Brohm did also. To me that is making excuses for the coach instead of letting him know losing and being unprepared was not excepted at Western. Because all 3 coaches were taking over a program...building. The house was build when Sanford took over. All three previous coaches finished their season by building toward their goals.

So to me Todd should have acted like a boss and gave the fans something to hang on to. Instead of building up his hire with excuses Todd should have told those of us paying this coach....

A season like this is not expectable at this point in the history of Western football. Some changes will be made but I still support Mike Sanford and believe in him.

Nope Todd gave the finger to fans by thinking we are too stupid to understand

Good and bad.

Well #1 would be Josh Anderson becoming eligible. #2 was yesterday with Moustapha Diagne becoming eligible. If this were to become #3 it might be the best one of the bunch and I’m thrilled with JA and MD becoming eligible.

No freaking way this happens. I can’t imagine how good this guy is in an interview. That’s the only thing that explains Todd Stewart throwing the kind of money he did at Sanford. Or for Arizona to even be giving him a look. Someone send his ass back west.
For you dahbeed, I will cross my fingers and toes.

RE: Mike Sanford a candidate for the Arizona coaching job
I still think Sanford can do a good job there but has to change somethings for sure. The running game was a disaster, special teams were abysmal, and the O-line failed to perform up to expectations. I am hoping this last season was an aberration and things will go much better in 2018.
Very surprised that a school like Arizona would even consider such a young and unproven coach. The WKU schedule was set up for an undefeated season if Brohm was still there it was possible to happen.
