The TV shots clearly showed more blue shirts than yellow but I think the ShockTop fans must have been mic'd up or something because they sounded just as loud as the Tulsa fans on TV.

What you couldn't see on TV was the upper deck which was heavily Shocker fans. While there were Shocker fans in every section of the arena (except the student section), and some lower sections were almost all Shocker fans 106, 107, 108. It was the upper sections that gave the Shocker fans the edge as they were 90% or better Shocker fans. That is why we sounded so loud on TV.

Even the Tulsa World says the arena was half and half (and I think they were being kind to TU): http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/tu...5e513.html

Lol the Tulsa world is worthless when it comes to covering University of Tulsa sadly. Bill Haisten in particular is known for being "sloppy" when it comes to schools not named Oklahoma or Oklahoma St. As I said it was 60/40 which is still 3,500 fans from wichita. The arena holds 8,400.

There wasn’t 8400 there. Much closer to 7500 imo.

I was told it was a sell out although we didn't sell sro tickets. A sell out is 8,355. I did not check that close but it appeared full to me.

From TU's own message boards, some fans though it was 75-25 WSU.

I'm not sure if that's a good enough source or not from their own fanbase. I'm sure it's a pride thing more than anything else for TU4ever. One would never wanna admit that there were more visiting fans than home fans at your own gym. I imagine TU4ever will fight this til the bitter end but in the end, the scoreboard is the one that ultimately counts.

There were more Tulsa fans, but WSU fans were louder for most of the game. I would say about 5,000 TU to 3,500 WSU, give or take a few hundred. Solid turnout by WSU though.

Here’s a pic I took at tip-off showing the non-WSU side

Picture is missing the student section that had no WSU in it, student section holds around 1,500.

Or maybe I'm just right lol. .

Seriously I try to be fair about things, would it have been embarrassing if wsu would have had more than half, but I would have said so. Then had an epic meltdown.

Not exactly happy with the situation as is, but as I said earlier next year I expect different. I also expect our overall attendance to improve.

RE: 1/13 AAC Basketball Games
From my vantage point i'd guess it was about 50/50 and TU might have had a very slight advantage. Shocker fans heavily outnumbered TU fans in the upper decks and TU had the advantage down low.

They announced it as a sellout but there were quite a few no shows at the top of the upper decks so I would guess about 8000 butts in seats.

Anyway, my group and I had a great time, the TU fans we conversed with where all nice folks, and I'm looking forward to doing it again next year.04-cheers

Not sure why you guys are still arguing. Either way it was impressive for WSU and embarrassing for Tulsa.

Something to do I guess.

There were also a number of empty seats in sections 104 and 105 in the lower deck. The seats are blue so when I watched the replay on TV it wasn't very noticeable. I assume these are probably corporate seats that were paid for but not used for some reason. Still I think around 8000 in actual attendance is about right. I doubt if there were more than 355 empty seats.

8000 is about what I'd say was physically there. As far as attendance it was close. Looking at the regular seats I'd give Wichita the advantage, but when you factor in the student section it prob a my tilts to TU slightly. Student section was overflowing.

If you'd like to upgrade your minor warning infraction to something more significant then keep on going.
