WSU #12

SMU #36

UH #37

According to Five Thirty-Eight, ESPN's Strength of Record is the best predictor of the committee (compared to RPI, Pomeroy, BPI etc.)

Current ESPN SOR:

12 Wichita St
21 Cincy
34 Houston
71 UCF
74 UConn
77 Memphis
90 SMU --> one reason why I think SMU has a lot of work to do.
94 Temple
114 Tulane
148 Tulsa

That wouldn't be because 538 is an espn related would it? I question any complicated math problem where they don't show you the work.

With rare exceptions the RPI has predicted everything but the last two or three bids every year on at large births. Teams like Missouri st. and New Mexico stand out for being left out with "safe" rpi's

Raw score has really been climbing nicely as well. I think UC still needs to figure a couple things out offensively to have a good shot at a F4, but there is time. And, if I was choosing between having the #2 offense and the #2 defense, I'd take defense every time. Gives you time to figure out other things.

RE: Week 11 Kenpom rankings
Cincy's numbers have been helped a lot recently by taking care of business against the middle of the pack. Those games allow you to really build your numbers if you perform relatively well. In contrast, WSU's numbers have been hurt recently (more like treading water), because of the weak early schedule in conference.

The relative schedule strength is reversed for these 2 teams over the next 6 games, so it will be interesting to see how both perform relative to the computer numbers expectations. I don't expect Cincy to lose games, or lose much ground in raw kenPom score (again, treading water). WSU has a chance to drop a game or two, but also a chance to really improve the raw kenPom score if it performs well. Hopefully both are firmly entrenched in the Top 10 after this stretch.

It appears the two teams will be mirror images of each other. Should be some good games to watch for neutral fans.

I think all fans will enjoy those games. 2 high level programs competing for a championship.

Ehhhhh? Cincy is gonna have to find some offense before "all" fans will enjoy those games.

I'm thinking a hush of silence will befall the csnbbs audience once Wichita State's schedule stiffens up slightly and we really start bending some folks over. Houston is not a weak team and we played exceptionally well hammering them. Tulsa is not a strong team and we played poorly and faded towards the end.

Somewhere in the middle (very good) is where our average potency lies and that's good enough to beat every team in this league. We're not #4 in the nation because voters like WuShock's golden coif. I expect some good battles from here on out but anything less than 18-0 in conference play for the Shockers will be a disappointment. And in case anybody hasn't been following along... I changed my prediction from 3-4 losses for the Shockers to 0 after teams like SMU and Temple started to melt down. The game in Cincy will be close; the game against Cincy at home shouldn't be too tough.

This is where CB stands ATM if anybody cares.

You are correct in that nobody cares about your opinion. Of course, we all know that the Shockers will be in the NBA next season and the only thing standing in their way of an 82-0 season will be that pesky road game against Golden State.
