Yeah, I bet you definitely would have sold out against FIU or UNT...

Actually in press release that listed the top crowds since our renovation in 2003, 3 of them included FIU so you are wrong again....

I just hope we win tonight, cannot wait to be there Saturday but a win tonight will be a good lead in to Saturday...

CONFERENCE STARTS

Reading this list reminds me how lucky I was to be a student at WKU during CLee's years. I was at all the bolded games in the student section. Still my best memories of WKU. My friends and I still talk about some of the those games from time to time.

I was a student then too, and I distinctly remember heckling the salukis as they left the court. I miss the bridgestone invitational, that was a lot of fun.

Yep those Nashville games were the best, we need to bring back some of those awesome neutral site games we had at Bridgestone...

I was at a lot of those games listed too and the top one in my mind was that final vs MTSU for SUn Belt championship in 2003...THat atmosphere was just nuts that night...I was a student at the time and people were literally sprinting to get in, lines out the door all the way to DUC, that atmosphere was insane and reminded me when i was a kid roaming around the brown bleachers when 8k was the normal back in mid 80s to mid 90s....I remember my buddy was Big Red at the time in 2003 and he got thrown out by the SBC famous Nazi for crowd surfing....I had to go across street and bring his street clothes to him so he could change out of custome, lmao....

I was also a student during those times. I think being at WKU during that specific time period turned me into the die-hard I am today. Great players and teams. And the fan support was outstanding. Just look at that list. Eight of the top 17 crowds in Diddle since renovation came while I was a student. I think six of those were during the 05-06 season alone. Just incredible memories of Diddle from those times.

The Bridgestone events (Sun Belt Classic, I think was the name) were great. Had a true "big-time" environment where WKU fans really showed well. As a student, getting to pre-game and post-game on Broadway was a blast.

I worked for HSSN as a student during those years. If I remember correctly, that game featured 'The Dunk' by CLee. Hoooooboy that was an amazing game! Too bad we lost, but that team was special to watch. Feels a bit like this years team. You just expect something great every game now.

I remember, as a kid, shooting baskets on the court after we won the OVC Tourney Championship in Diddle.

I miss the old wood-bleachers. That place got loud.

Of course, we went on to defeat UK in the first round of the Dance that year.

That dunk was amazing and even though we lost that was such an amazing game. Diddle was insane. The Danny Rumph Georgia game and South Al whiteout game are other amazing games that stick out in my mind from that time.

All of us that were there for the Horn/CLee years were lucky and it shows how winning makes students fans for life. How many students from McDonalds era are diehard WKU fans today? The students that were at last nights game and tomorrows game should remember them forever and hopefully become lifetime WKU fans.

Any mention of greatest dunks in Diddle should start with Elgrace Wilborn. Clee's dunk came off a rebound I saw Elgrace do dunks like that off the dribble planting just past the ft line and still finish that high. I believe it was vs Denver I have that one somewhere just have to remember the username for photobucket I used back then. Elgrace was the most gifted (jumping) player I saw at Western with my own eyes

But when I think back to those days my first thoughts are with Mr Danny Rumph

wkcc by 20 tomorrow night.

With the way they are playing right now, getting the extra bodies, playing at home in front of a big crowd plus our offense going in the tank since conference play started this sets up for our worst beat down of the year.

This are the type of games Western tanks....

large crowd with a winning streak equals fans going home disappointed.

Dunk was against SIU. We got a Technol for grabbing a jersey while SIU was inbounding at the end of the game, lost by around 5

What a **** joke, refs just called a foul on Walters for standing too close to the WKU player??? Announcers call BS on that, because it was total crap. No surprise UAB got screwed so bad with these WKU fans as refs.
