C-USA signs marketing deal for schools and players

Not sure if this will help the C-USA brand much but we will see. I guess it better than nothing.

RE: C-USA signs marketing deal for schools and players
I feel like C-USA needs a following first in order to implement this "influencer marketing" strategy. It will be interesting to see how this works out for us - but it's good to know they're actually doing something behind the scenes. This also makes me think we're more likely to go digital in our TV negotiations.

850m? For a company with around 5.3k followers on Twitter, it took some imagination to get to that figure.

I'm guessing the 850M is counting the number of fans of the teams or something. That is kind of absurd.

I msg'd a buddy who's in the college athletic marketing business to see what his thoughts were. And I agree, anything is better than the marketing we currently see.

English please???

I read something about a tentpole event. What the hell is that?

It looks like some social media company figured out how to get some more of what little money CUSA has

My buddy in the industry responded with "yeah they do good work on social media." I trust his opinion of them so we'll see how this goes.

Did you ask him what a tent pole event is? I'm really curious what this stupid term means

850 million followers? Apparently a marketing degree requires a class to learn how to quintuple-count, at least. Can’t wait for Rob Gronkowski to start posting videos extolling the virtues of CUSA!

If you add up all the followers of the 2,500+ athletes and 1,500+ brands? That would be 212,500 followers per athlete/brand, though that would also include multiple SM platforms. I guess it's possible — Drew Brees has 3.12 million Twitter followers, for example, and Dak Prescott has 1.1 million Twitter followers.

That doesn't mean 850 million people will get the message, or even close to that amount, since there's plenty of duplication and not everyone in the opendorse network is going to be broadcasting the same messages, but in the strictest sense of the word, that number may be correct.
