usually cost anywhere from a few hundred thousand to millions. They sign a contract with a cost to move on before fulfilling it just as the players do.
My personal opinion if a player is unhappy and dont want to play at my school....move on. They are selfish and not a team player, if it's a starter.
This same argument took place with the GT....the P5 will pick our best players off. From my point of view it's benefit the G5 schools more than the P5
Those that put a lot of stock in recruiting ranking should love this rule. BTW, I don't. But if you do there's a lot more talent sitting on the benches of P5 programs that are not seeing the field for 3 years and not getting along with the coach. Now they have a option. There's only so many spots in P5 programs.
Will some of us lose players with talent? Probably but those will be the selfish player who thinks they have a shot at the NBA, NFL.
Most championships are won by teams. There's a lot of teams that look like champions on paper then fall apart or come up short because they have a few me first players
