See this as the pattern for most ACC football teams to get 7 home games or 6 with neutral site game.
P5 Game/@P5 Game
@FBS game/ FBS game
FBS buy game/FBS buy game
FCS/FCS

I will say, more likely to go to Tampa than Hartford for an away game.

What football team plays in Hartford? Hartford Public? You're a strange fellow.

Nah, he must be talking about Weaver.

Well let's see if a fake/mythical national championship bringsmore fans to your game as well. There were lots of empty seats at the Spectrum this year.

Pretty much standard across the AAC to schedule 2 P6, 1 G4, and an FCS.

3 P6 would be worth noting though.

I was gonna say it's not the norm with this year there being only 4 teams that played 2 p5s: UCF, UCONN, ECU, and Houston. But then I looked a little deeper and realized it was just a very down year.

Last year it was 7: Memphis, Houston, SMU,ECU (played 3), UCONN, UCF, USF.
Next year it will be 8: USF, ECU, Houston, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa, UCF.

Then throw in Navy playing Army, Air Force, and Notre Dame every year, that's a good schedule. So I guess on the whole, yes 2 p5s or 1 p5+BYU is becoming the overall norm.

Also next year will be a huge test for AAC, hopefully a banner year and coming out party for the conference!

The stated strategic OOC scheduling goal for Houston is 2 P5's (home and homes) and 2 G5's each season. I assume most AAC schools would look favorably on that type of OOC schedule. ECU often plays more than 2 P5s in OOC. A few others play P5's but almost never seem to get home and homes (Tulsa for instance). Frankly, payday roadie P5 games dont have much value to the conference---but they are pretty profitable for the bottom line of the school that travels.

what's not advertised is that we got the phone number for Rick Pitino's party planner and a blank check from Adidas' college's donation committee

I believe one game is actually a buy game for 1.3 million. Much like NCSU did with La Tech in their 2-1 they did for La Tech.

Since I know Memphis is new to the concept of actually looking at scheduling for football. It is how you need to complete the schedule and knowing what other teams will be willing to do. NCSU needed to complete FBS home games for some years to finish up to 2025. La Tech is coming twice before NCSU will play there. I understand why USF would not want to do that. @La Tech is the same year @ND, odds are State will move out the game another 3-4 years and will play that as the only away OOC game that season.

What I don't get is why the AAC fans don't see that the ACC has been a P5 willing to play H/H. The only thing I see that is changing, UNC and NCSU are preferring to play other AAC teams than ECU. In a way it is sad because those are great games for the fans. However, I get it from a Business Perspective, no need to help the competition in any way. Neither UNC or NCSU are needing items from the Gov't and the additions of FBS App St and Charlotte took away ECU argument they were the only other NC FBS college and should play the other schools. Hate when politics comes into play, but football is no longer like it was when I was in college. I remember when Basketball & Football were even in bringing in money. Those days are gone.

There's always been a very logical reason for ACC teams to not want to play us, which has also been the very reason we've valued the games with NC State, UNC, and VT so much, and that is location. It makes sense that your four OOC slots would be better used outside of North Carolina, since you've got three other NC teams in your conference. On the other hand, we have always been in conferences where our closest opponent is Cincinnati, Marshall or Temple, so our goal in OOC is to get games our fans can drive to.

The elevation of Appalachian State, Old Dominion, and Charlotte to FBS gives us more regional schools to choose from, and I expect we will play them more than the ACC schools in the long run because they, like us, play in far flung conferences.
