Your near mid-season AAC POY
IMO, still very wide open. How I see it at this point:
1. Rob Gray
2. Gary Clark
2. Shake Milton
4. Landry Shamet
H.M. - Jalen Adams, Jacob Evans & Melvin Frazier.

I dont think you can overlook Jeremiah Martin at this point either. 3rd in points, 7th in assists, 1st in steals, and 3rd in Win Shares

I think it will come down to the stretch. Whoever takes his ball club to the championship will win this honor . As it stands right now I would have Gary Clark and Shake Milton out front with a little separation from the rest of the pack.

Of all the AAC guys I’ve seen, I’m the most impressed with Melvin Frazier. That dude can flat out ball. He is going to be a good player in the Association.

I would have to go with either Shake Milton or Gary Clark, with Rob Gray right behind. Milton and Gray get points for carrying their teams to an NCAA tournament level, while Clark gets points for being the best player on the best team, and also the best defender in the league in my opinion. Shamet still has a chance to get back in the discussion as well. Adams, Martin, and Frazier also deserve consideration, but considering their teams are likely out of NCAA contention, one of them would have to clearly separate themselves as the best player in the league to be deserving.

To me its Gary Clark... I know I am biased, but nobody affects the game more.

It's nice to see him get his due this year. There's nothing he can't do. He can score inside, mid-range, or outside, he's a great passer, he's an excellent on-ball and help side defender, he's a great rebounder, he's got great hands on defense and causes a lot of deflections, he's a good free throw shooter, and he's a great leader/teammate. I'm biased as well, but I couldn't be more proud of the way he is playing this year as a fan.

I think 1-3 all have made strong cases for POY.

I’m a biased Houston fan, so I want to say Rob Gray. But if Milton takes SMU to the tourney after losing Foster, he should win it. He’s a great player that means so much to SMU. He’s the one guy that makes me hold my breath every time he touches the ball during crunch time. Fantastic player. I think one of Milton or Gray win it. Gary Clark is awesome as well. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those three.

I would have to say Rob Gray followed by Shake Milton and Gary Clark with Landry Shamet as a close competitor. SMU needs to step up in conference play in order to justify Shake Milton as POY. Rob Gray and Shake are probably the most important players on their teams in this conference. I think Cincinnati would be ok without Gary Clark and so would Wichita State without Landry Shamet. Take away Gray or Shake and those teams probably don't even sniff the NIT this year.

I'm considered a Tier 1 poster. In case of expansion, I'm gone. I'm P5 bound.

Gary Clark has the best PER in the league (currently 8th in the nation at 31.33) and could easily be the default winner as the best player on the best team.
Otherwise, Shake Milton is the next best choice.
