RE: UCONN being investigated?
NCAA feeling unfulfilled about how they handled UNC-Cheat and looking to hammer a surrogate?

UConn boosters enlisting the NCAA to help them get out of Ollie's contract?

Is a 2014 national championship in danger of coming down from the rafters?

Can poor ol' HuskyU's heart take any more disappointment?

Stay tuned!

RE: UCONN being investigated?
Woah! My first reaction was how bad for UConn and the AAC. Then I started to wonder, does the program want this to fire Ollie? Hard to believe that would be the case.

Eek. Hope it's not serious. That's not what this league needs right now.

or it might just been what the league needs...

this might be the only way i see ollie being fired this season

if its a serious issue, uconn should self impose a post season ban this season...its a win win or everyone

Ollie has a huge buyout? If Yukon pleads guilty to a minor secondary violation, does it go to zero?

Hmmm

Huh...

Who knew the NCAA still existed or cared about so-called "rules." UConn could be in real trouble if the NCAA decides to make an example of them to compensate for UNC, Louisville, and Michigan State.

Hmmm

The beauty of a for clause firing provision. If it’s not specific it’s up to interpretation.

Not a good look. Wasn’t UCONN on probation and a postseason ban when Calhoun beat feet?

RE: UCONN being investigated?
It would make sense if this is a complaint by St John's alleging that UConn stayed in contact with Sid Wilson's family after he signed/enrolled (and to be honest it kind of seems like they might have) leading to the quick transfer, just based on the timing and the fact that UConn's not getting good enough players to be paying for kids. It'll be funny when UConn gets hit worse for a few weeks of text messages than UNC did for 20 years of academic fraud, though.

I suspect you could be right about a clause such as that in his contract. That may now be pretty standard language. If UCONN is self-reporting the violations and those violations are limited in scope, it may well set the stage for Ollie's departure.

This is unfortunate for the AAC. A strong UCONN lifts this conference's reputation far more than any single winning season by the schools not traditionally known for basketball.

Meanwhile University 6 is shopping prostitutes right now and handing out lunch bags of cash. Guarantee their football cheating isn't going to stop. Their program is a big fraud.

St. John's accusing someone else of cheating-- that would be ironic??

It’s like UCONN is on a perpetual 5 year sales cycle with the NCAA investigators

UConn should do postseason ban voluntarily this season now. I hate that schools can do it- but it makes 100% sense right now for them.

RE: UCONN being investigated?
I say the NCAA goes about it differently this year and forces UCONN to extend Ollies contract. That should really teach them a lesson in cheating.

I don't know if they are willing to throw the death penalty out there that easily.

Waiting on UConn fans to blame the AAC, as they have for their poor performance as of the past couple of years.

I think the NCAA needs to investigate Fran Dunphy.

RE: UCONN being investigated?
One reason I do not gloat when it comes to NCAA investigations for other teams. Karma is a snaggletooth beatch that will bite you in the arse. I was concerned because the kid from Louisville decommitted from NCSU when the coach was fired. Just to darn close to the fire for me with just association with that kid to be happy about anything happening to any school. At least UNC-Cheat showed the way to handle the NCAA, stall, stall and then stall some more. 03-wink
